The death occurred suddenly in Mullingar Regional Hospital on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 of John Rogers, Ferefad, Longford. 

Predeceased by his father James (Jim). John will be sadly missed by his loving family, his mother Marie, sisters Veronica, Jennifer, Jacqueline and Rebecca, brothers-in-law William, James and Eddie, niece and nephews, uncle Sean Brennan and aunt Nan Gilchrist, relatives, neighbours and friends. Until we meet again, May God Hold youin the palm of his hand. Rest in Peace John.

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church St, Longford, N39 KN66 on Friday, April 11 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Removal on Saturday, April 12 to arrive to St Mel's Cathedral, Longford for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass, John will be laid to rest in Ballymacormack Cemetery.

Elizabeth (Betty) Scott (née Dolan), Church Street, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford / Mountmellick, Laois / Bawnboy, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Mullingar Regional Hospital and in the presence of her loving family on Thursday, April 10, 2025 of Elizabeth (Betty) Scott (nee Dolan) Church Street, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford/Mountmellick, Laois/ Bawnboy, Cavan.

Predeceased by her husband Jim, brothers Gerald and Eamon, sisters Enda and Essie. Betty will be sadly missed by her loving family, daughters Colette (Moriarty), Ann Marie (Webber), Irene (Bennett), sons Gerard and Seamus, sister Nuala, brother Noel, grandchildren Laura, Jane, Leane, Aoife, Abi, Chloe, Caolán, Isobel, great grandchildren Nuala and Rory, sons-in-law Kevin and Gareth, daughters-in-law Phyllis and Ruth, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposing at her home in Church Street, Edgeworthstown (N39 FR98) on Saturday, April 12 from 4pm until 7pm. Removal on Sunday, April 13 to arrive in St Mary's Church, Edgeworthstown for Funeral Mass at 1pm. Burial afterwards in St Joseph's Cemetery, Mountmellick (R32P5P6) to arrive at 3.30pm. Peter McStay, Crott, Moyne, Longford / Cavan

The death occurred, peacefully surrounded by his family in his 90th year, on Monday, April 7, 2025 of Peter McStay, Crott, Moyne, Co Longford and formerly of Crossdoney, Co Cavan.

Pre-deceased by his loving wife Mary Ellen. Peter will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, daughters Mary Kelly (Drumlish), Belinda Gallagher (Keadue) and Noeleen Shekleton (Moyne), sons Brendan (Crott) and Colm (New York), daughters-in-law Veronica and Tracey, sons-in-law Pauric, Gabriel and Martin, grandchildren Kieran, Martin, Conor, Niall, Evan, Ronan, Ciara, Lauren, Aoife, Aine, Ryan, Ella, MJ, Jodi and Peter, great-grandchild Daisy, Kieran’s partner Sophie, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Friday, April 11 from 4.30pm concluding with prayers at 6pm. Removal to arrive at St Francis Xavier, Church Moyne (via Crott) for prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday, April 12 at 11am, interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Annette Meenehan (née Sweeney), Treanmore, Mohill, Co Leitrim / Athgarvan, Kildare

The death occurred on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 of Annette Meenehan (nee Sweeney) Treanmore, Mohill, Co. Leitrim and late of Athgarvan, Co Kildare after a life well lived.

Predeceased by her Parents Desmond and May Sweeney and sister Eva. Much loved mother of Wendy, Andrea and Erica, partner of Johnny and sister to Rosaleen. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, her sons in law Kevin Cox and Kevin Wynne, her adored grandchildren Oran (9) Charlie (8) and Chester (4) partner, sister, extended family neighbours and friends. The death occurred peacefully, in the excellent care of the staff of Castleview Community House, following a short illness, surrounded by her loving family and friends on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 of Betty McGuire, Castleview Community House, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath and formerly of the Royal County.

The death occurred peacefully at North West Hospice Sligo surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 of Peggy Neenan (née Hayden) Breffni Heights, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim and formerly Strokestown, Co Roscommon. 

Pre-deceased by her husband Sean, granddaughter Críona, sister Maeve and brother Enda. Deeply missed by her loving family, daughters Fiona and Maeve, son Andrew and his partner Cathriona, sons-in-law Anthony and Michael, grandchildren Emma, Eilís, Arron, Emmett, Tadhg and Elva, great- granddaughter Hannah, sister Jo Doyle (Dublin), brother-in-law Brendan, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and her many friends. Michael Leddy, Marian Row, Ballinagh, Co Cavan

The death occurred peacefully in Arkansas, America on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 of Michael Leddy, Marian Row, Ballinagh, Co Cavan.

Pre-deceased by his parents Peter and Kathleen, and brother Brendan. Beloved brother of Peter, Oliver, Seamus, Sean and Frank, sisters Bridie, Judy, Cait, Rose and Elizabeth. Sadly, missed by his loving brothers and sisters, sisters in law, brothers in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.

Memorial Mass for Michael will take place on Sunday, April 13 in St Michael’s Church, Potahee, at 10am. May He Rest In Peace.

Brendan Dunne, Gardanne, France / formerly of Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully following an illness borne with great courage on Saturday, March 15, 2025 of Brendan Dunne, Gardanne, France and formerly of Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon. 

Beloved husband to Marion (McDevitt) and devoted father to Emma & Matthieu. Cherished son of Noreen and the late Denis. Loving brother to Siobhán, Gráinne, Gary, Niamh & Fiona. Brendan will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.
