The death occurred, tragically on Thursday, March 27, 2025 of Tom (Tommy) Walsh 12 Willow Crescent, Ballymahon, Co Longford and formerly Terlicken, Ballymahon, Co Longford.

Deeply regretted by his sons Paul, James and Andrew. Their mother Sharon and his brothers and sister Jody, Ned, Dermot, Martin and Mary, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace.

Reposing in St Matthew's Church Ballymahon on Sunday evening, March 30 from 5pm until 7pm followed by prayers. Funeral Mass on Monday, March 31 at 11am followed by burial in Kilcommock cemetery. Family flowers only and house private please.

Paddy Sweeney, St Matthew’s Park, Ballymahon, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the care of the staff of the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 27, 2025 of Paddy Sweeney, St Matthew’s Park, Ballymahon, Co Longford.

Predeceased by his wife Eva, brother John-Joe and son-in-law Fintan. Paddy will be forever missed and always remembered with love by his family, daughter Edel, sons Liam and Tony, daughters-in-law Michelle and Claire, his adored grandchildren James, Kelly, Cíara, Áine, Jim, Liam, Seán, Eva and Fintan, sister Maureen McCormack, sister-in-law Marian, brother-in-law Liam, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and his dear friends. We hold you close within our hearts And there you shall remain, To walk with us throughout our lives Until we meet again. Rest in Peace Paddy.

Reposing on Friday, March 28 from 4pm until 7pm in the residence of his daughter Edel McDonald, Cloonkeen, Ballymahon N39 K0N2. Removal on Saturday, March 29 to arrive to St Matthew's Church, Ballymahon for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass, Paddy will be laid to rest in the family plot in Forgney Cemetery. Family flowers only please.

Mary Hussey (née Finnegan), 10 Lough Ree Park, Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Roscommon / Longford

The death occurred peacefully in Mullingar Regional Hospital surrounded by her heartbroken family on Thursday, March 27, 2025 of Mary Hussey (nee Finnegan) 10 Lough Ree Park, Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Roscommon/ Longford.  

Predeceased by her beloved husband Jimmy and her parents Joe and Mary. Mary will be sadly missed and always remembered with love by her family, her cherished children Jonathon and Chloe, sister Letitia Bourke, brothers Joe and John, sisters-in-law Fionnula, Mary, Maggie and Mary Ireland, brothers-in-law Neil, Sean and Pat, nieces, nephews, good neighbours and life long friends.

Just a prayer from the family who loved you, Just a memory fond and true, In our hearts you will live foreverbecause we thought the world of you. Rest in Peace Mary.

Reposing in her home on Sunday, March 30 from 2pm until 6pm. Removal on Monday, March 31 to arrive to St Mel's Cathedral, Longford for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass, which can be viewed live HERE, Mary will be laid to rest in the family plot in Ballymacormack Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Stroke Unit Mullingar Hospital, Irish Wheelchair Association or ISPCA Kenagh c/o Connell Funeral Directors or any family member.

Mary Coady (née Connolly), St Michael's Rd, Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the care of the staff of Mullingar Regional Hospital surrounded by her heartbroken family on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 of Mary Coady (née Connolly), St Michael's Rd, Longford Town, Longford. 

Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Kathleen, sister Teresa and auntie Betty Dowd. Mary will be forever missed by her loving family , daughter Lydia, son Aidan, her adored grandchildren Allana, Mia, John, Tanzin and Delilah, son-in-law Padraig Dolan, her beloved brother Micko and sisters Sandra, Rossario, Olga, Anne and Rose, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and dear friends. 

We hold you close within our hearts and there you shall remain to walk with us throughout our lives until we meet again. Rest in Peace Mary. Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford N39 KN66 on Thursday, March 27 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Removal to arrive to St Mel's Cathedral, Longford on Friday, March 28 for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass which can be viewed HERE, Mary will be laid to rest in Ballymacormack Cemetery.

Breda Smith, Barrack Street, Granard, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 of Breda Smith, Barrack Street, Granard, Co Longford. Predeceased by her father T.P. Breda will be sadly missed by her loving mother Mary, sisters Geraldine and Elaine brothers Bernard and Tomás, her children and grandchildren in America, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunt Lena, uncle Noel, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May She Rest In Peace.

Breda’s Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, March 28 at St Mary's Church, Granard, at 11am followed by cremation service at Lakelands Crematorium Cavan. House private please. Funeral Mass can be viewed HERE

Gerard (Gerry) Quinn, Knocklyon, Dublin / Edgeworthstown, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully at St James Hospital on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 of Gerard (Gerry) Quinn Knocklyon, Dublin/ Edgeworthstown, Co Longford.

Predeceased by his parents Brigid and Hugh, infant brother Michael, sister Mary & Brother Patrick. Loving husband to his wife Jenny, Sons Eoin & Ronan, Eoin's partner Aisling, daughter-in-law Aoife, grandchild Fiadh, brother Hugh, sisters- in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends. Rest in Peace.

Reposing in Fanagans Funeral Home Willbrook Rathfarnham on Friday, March 28 from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 29 in St Colmcille’s Church Knocklyon at 11am followed by cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium Harolds Cross. The death occurred on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 of Frank Fanning, Hill Street, Mohill, Co Leitrim, formerly of McNabola’s garage, Mohill, Co Leitrim. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Margaret and sister Bridget Connolly, Longford , brother-in-law Bernie and Sister-in-law Gretta (Foxfield) nieces, nephews, cousins, good neighbours and good friends. The death occurred peacefully in the gentle care of the staff of Arus Carolan, Mohill on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 of Annie Harkin (née Bohan), Glasdrumman, Gorvagh and formally of Laheennamona, Mohill, Co Leitrim.

Predeceased by her husband Peter and daughter-in-law Noeleen. Sadly missed by her loving sons PJ, Johnny and daughters Marie (Barry) and Ann (McCaffrey), sons-in-law Kevin and John, daughter-in-law Deirdre. Deeply adored and missed by her grandchildren Ann-Marie, Johanna, Jason, Sinead, Ethan, Kalon, Evan, Sean, Emily, Chloe and Miya and her great grandchildren, Cillian, Michaela, Diarmuid, Gearòid and Katie, her nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Annie will always be remembered for her warmth and kindness by all who met her. May Annie rest in peace.

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by family and in the excellent care of the staff of the ICU in Portiuncula Hospital, Galway on Monday, March 24, 2025 of Kyran Geraghty, Ballyleague, Co Roscommon, late of Lusk, Co Dublin. 

Predeceased by his parents Tom and Florrie. Sadly missed by his wife Carmel, sons Paul and Mark, daughter Elaine, daughter-in-law Valerie, son-in-law Niall and Paul’s partner Lisa. Deeply regretted by his grandchildren Kathleen and Donnacha and their mum Fidelma, Conor, Rosie, Savannah, Casey, Jonah and Honor, sisters Nola, Ann, Brenda, Barbara, Gaye and Kathy, aunts Phyllis and Ursula, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces, friends and neighbours. Carmel Flanagan (née Mooney), Leitrim Village, Co Leitrim / Milltown, Dublin

The death occurred peacefully in the exceptional care of the staff in North West Hospice, Sligo, and in the loving arms of her family, after a short illness on Monday, March 24, 2025 of Carmel Flanagan of Leitrim Village, and formerly of Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim and Columbanus, Milltown, Dublin.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Ray, her children Michelle and Paul, son-in-law John and daughter-in-law Lisa, her beautiful grandchildren, stepchildren and step grandchildren, her brothers and sisters, extended family and friends. Matt Scally, Moate, Westmeath / Castlepollard, Westmeath

The death occurred unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 of Matt Scally, Moate, Co Westmeath and late of Ballymanus, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath. 

Predeceased by his beloved wife Theresa, much loved and cherished father of Joe, Patrick and Helen. Loved by daughters-in-law Pauline and Angela, son-in-law Paul, grandchildren Mark, Gillian, Ryan, Ben, Sam, Alannah, Jessica and Luke, sisters Mary and Margaret, brother Joe (predeceased), brothers-ln-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, friends and neighbours. Pat Wynne, Harborne, Birmingham and formerly of Garryfluigh, Corraleehan, Co Cavan/Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully on his 80th birthday, in the care of his daughter Michelle on Friday, March 14, 2025 of Pat Wynne Harborne, Birmingham and formerly of Garryfluigh, Corraleehan, Co Cavan/Leitrim.

Predeceased by his wife Mary, parents Michael and Kathleen, brother Benny and sisters Bridie, Josie, Kathleen and Theresa Carmel. Loved dearly and sadly missed by his children Marie, Michelle and Patrick; his grandchildren Mary, Katie, Patrick and Charlie; his brothers Dominic and Eugene; his sisters Mary and Bernadette, all in the extended Wynne families, neighbours and friends.         The death occurred peacefully following an illness borne with great courage on Saturday, March 15, 2025 of Brendan Dunne, Gardanne, France and formerly of Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon. 

        Beloved husband to Marion (McDevitt) and devoted father to Emma & Matthieu. Cherished son of Noreen and the late Denis. Loving brother to Siobhán, Gráinne, Gary, Niamh & Fiona. Brendan will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.
