The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home on Saturday, March 8, 2025 of Doreen Delaney Hogan, Cloncoose, Longford.   

Pre-deceased by her husband Matthew, parents James and Norah, sister Ursula and by her brother Thomas. Doreen will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, beloved son James, sister Loretto, daughter-in-law Malgorzata, grandchildren Liliana and Hannah, godchildren Thomas and Claire, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, good neighbours, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home Chapel (N39 XE92) on Tuesday, March 11 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, March 12 in St Mel’s Cathedral at 11am, followed by a private burial. Cissy (Rose) (Anne Marie) Higgins (née Brennan), Viewmount, Longford / Cloone, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully at the Croft Nursing Home, Inchicore, Dublin in her 99th year on Thursday, March 6, 2025 of Cissy (Rose) (Anne Marie) Higgins (née Brennan) late of Viewmount, Longford, formerly of Cattan, Cloone, Co. Leitrim and previously London.

Predeceased by her husband; John Patrick (Higgins), her parents; Tom and Mary Ann (Brennan), brothers; Joe and Mike, brothers in law; James, Bernard and Hugh, cousins and many dear friends. May Cissy Rest in Peace.

Cissy will be sadly missed by her family Mary, Patrick and Ann, her beloved sister Anne, her cherished grandchildren Dara, Feidhlim, Eoin, Hugh Sean, Tom, Pierce, Faye Danny, Matthew and Kate, granddaughters-in-law, grandson-in-law, her 13 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Carmel, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, close friends and neighbours.

Cissy will repose at Glennon's Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road, Longford (Eircode N39 EC81) on Wednesday, March 12 from 3.30pm concluding with prayers at 5.15pm. Removal to arrive at St Mel’s Cathedral, Longford for funeral mass on Thursday morning, March 13 at 11am followed by burial to Cloone, Cemetery, Co Leitrim. Cissy’s Funeral Mass will be live streamed HERE.

Madeleine Flood (née Shanley), Cornapark, Edgeworthstown, Longford / Westmeath

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Mullingar Regional Hospital and in the presence of her loving family on Saturday, March 8, 2025 of Madeleine Flood (née Shanley), Cornapark, Edgeworthstown, Longford / Westmeath. Predeceased by her husband Tom, brother Tommy and sister Frances.

Madeleine will be sadly missed by her loving family, sons Peter, Pat, Tom and Aidan, grandchildren, great - grandchild, daughters-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends, neighbours and carers. Rest in Peace.

Catherine (Cassie) Clyne, Park Road, Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2025 of Catherine (Cassie) Clyne, Park Road, Longford town.  

Pre-deceased by her parents Peter and Lucy and by her sister May (Blackpool). Cassie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, son Mark, sisters Lucy (England) and Ann (England), brother Gerry (Longford), brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Sunday, March 9 from 4.30pm until 6.30pm followed by removal to St Mel’s Cathedral for prayers at 7.30pm. The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the exceptional care of the ICU in Cavan General Hospital on Saturday, March 8, 2025 of Terence (Terry) Murray, Aughavore, Carrigallen, Leitrim.  

Beloved son of Eugene and Elizabeth (Bessie) Murray. Survived by his brothers John, Joe, Bernie, Vincent and Peter, his sisters in law, his many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Smiths funeral home, High Street, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim (N41 TD62) from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, March 11. Funeral cortege from Smiths via Killeshandra, Aughavore, Carrigallen arriving at St. Mary's Church, Drumeela on Wednesday, March 12 for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Leah Marie Faughnan, Cloonfinnan, Mohill, Co Leitrim

The death occurred at the age of 19 years, suddenly on Thursday, March 6, 2025 of Leah Marie Faughnan, Radharc Na Locha, Cloonfinnan, Mohill, Co Leitrim.

Pre-deceased by her grandparents Hugh and Bernadette Faughnan, Joe Moran and cousin Kristian. Leah will be greatly missed by her heartbroken parents Gerard and Anne Marie, sisters Katie, Sarah and Mia, granny Mary, uncles Jimmy, Dermot and Adrian, aunts Michelle, Mary and Mairead, cousins, relatives, neighbours and Leah's many great friends. Rest in Peace. 

Removal to St Mary's Church Annaduff (N41 CF54) on Monday, March 10 for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by Cremation afterwards in Lakeland's Crematorium Cavan at 4pm. Donations to SADS Foundation (Sudden Adult Death Syndrome). Carmel Regan (née Reynolds), Kilcolman, Ballaghaderreen, Roscommon / Carrigallen, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully with her beloved family by her side in the exceptional care of the Doctors and nurses of Mayo University Hospital Castlebar on Thursday, March 6, 2025 of Carmel Regan (née Reynolds), Kilcolman, Ballaghaderreen, Roscommon and late of Carrigallen, Leitrim. 

She will be very sadly missed and remembered with love by her heartbroken family, her husband Tony, sister Kathleen, brothers Jim and John, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives good neighbours and her many friends. May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

The death occurred peacefully, in the wonderful care of St Gabriel's Ward, Our Lady’s Hospice on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 of Seamus O'Donnell, Dublin and formerly of Arva, Co Cavan. 

Dearly loved father of Dearbhaile and husband of the late Conchessa (McCourt). Deeply regretted by his loving daughter, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.

The death occurred suddenly, but peacefully, aged 99 years, in the loving care of her nephew Brendan Dermody at his residence in Balrath, Castletown-Finea on Saturday, March 8, 2025 of Mai (Mary) Moore, Dublin, and formerly of Williamstown, Castletown-Finea, Co Westmeath.

Predeceased by her parents John and Mary Kate, brothers Luke and Peter and her sisters Chrissy, Kathleen and Margaret. Sadly missed by her nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, neighbours, relatives, friends and her wonderful carers. May Mai Rest In Peace.

The death occurred suddenly at his home on Thursday, March 6, 2025 of Bernie Prior, Yonkers, New York and formerly Derradda & Lisacarn, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim.

Youngest son of the late Pee and Lizzie Prior. Bernie will be forever missed by his loving wife Veronica, his sister Mary (Healy), brothers Hugh, Pat and Peter, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, the extended Prior and Cashin families, cousins, neighbours and his many close friends. Sr Dominica (Peggy) O'Reilly, Rathbracken, Granard, Longford / Ballymote, Sligo

The death occurred peacefully, in her 96th year, in West Leaderville, Perth, Australia, in the loving care of St John of God's Convent Sisters and her nephew, Kevin Gallagher on Friday, February 21, 2025 of Sr Dominica (Peggy) O'Reilly, late of Rathbracken, Granard, Co Longford and formerly of St John of God Convent, Dun Bhrid, Ballymote, Sligo. 

Predeceased by her parents, brothers and sisters, most recently her Sister Joan Gallagher, Rathbracken. Peg will be sadly missed by her Brother Tommy O'Reilly (Newry), Sisters Ellen Float (UK), Liz McNerney and Bridie Myericks (USA), nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be offered in Peg's memory on March 21 at 7.30pm in St Mary's Church, Granard. Peg will be laid to rest in Perth. May she rest in eternal peace.
