The death occurred peacefully in his home in the loving care of his family after a short illness, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 of Martin Cummins, Screebogue, Carrickboy, Longford. 

Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Mary. Martin will be sadly missed and always remembered with love by his family, his loving wife and best friend Marlene, his cherished daughter Susanne and sons Tom, David and Stephen, daughters-in-law Sheila, Aisling and Danielle, son-in-law John, his adored grandchildren Isaac, Darragh, Zoe, Kate, Cara, Arthur and Hugo, sister Ann, brothers Pat and Tom, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, aunt-in-law Helena, nieces, nephews, relatives, all his wonderful neighbours and dear friends. Your life was love and labour, Your love for your family true, You did your best for all of us, We will always remember you. Rest in Peace.

Martin will repose in Our Lady’s Manor Chapel, Edgeworthstown, N39 VR04 on Saturday, February 15 from 3pm concluding with prayers at 5pm. Removal from his home on Sunday, February 16 to arrive to Carrickedmond Church, N39 RT21 for Funeral Mass at 1pm. Following Mass, Martin will be laid to rest in the family plot in the local cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association c/o Connell Funeral Directors or any family member.

Michael (Mickie) Corcoran, Aughakiernan, Aughnacliffe, Longford

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on Thursday, February 13, 2025 of Michael (Mickie) Corcoran, Aughakiernan, Aughnacliffe, Longford. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Maria, his foster parents Phil and Bridgie Corcoran (whom he was raised by following the death of his mother at a young age), sister Lena, brothers Peter, John and Bernard and recently by his beloved wife Kathleen. 

Mickie will be lovingly missed by his family, sons Philip, Peter and Owen, daughters Catherine, Bridie and Lena Brady, daughters-in-law Michelle and Marie, son-in-law Seamus, sister-in-law Mary Farrell, brother-in-law Patrick Kelleher, his 11 cherished grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.

Mickie’s Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, February 15 at 11am in St Colmcille’s Church, Aughnacliffe followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. House will remain private for close family and friends please.

Bridget Ross (née Byron), Cloncaugh, Edgeworthstown, Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 11 of Bridget Ross (nee Byron) Cloncaugh, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford. Predeceased by her husband Christy and her brothers.

Deeply missed by her daughters Bridie and Catherine, sons Christopher and Seamus, sisters Una and Mary, son- in- law Davy, daughters- in- law Geraldine and Lisa, grandchildren Chris, Jamie, Emma, Sorcha, Grace, Faith, Dylan, Erin, James and Clodagh, great-grandchildren Freya and Kayden, extended family and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Bridie and Davy's home in Kilcoursey (N39 V446) from 4pm until 8pm on Thursday, February 13. A one way system will be in operation with all traffic entering via Edgeworthstown/ Kilcoursey road junction.

Funeral Mass on Friday, February 14 at 12 noon in St Mary's Church Edgeworthstown. Burial afterwards in Russagh Cemetery Rathowen. House private on Friday morning, February 14 please, family flowers only. Donations if desired to the Irish Hospice Foundation.

Brendan Bannon, Ballinahinch, Newtowncashel, Longford

The death occurred peacefully after a long illness, bravely borne in the care of the nurses and staff at the Beacon Hospital, surrounded by his family on Monday, February 10, 2025 of Brendan Bannon, Ballinahinch, Newtowncashel, Co Longford. (Ex Telecom Eireann).  

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Bridget, brother Peter, brother-in-law Pat and sister-in-law Nuala. Brendan will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, beloved wife Eithne, dear sons James (Ohio), Eoin (Brussels), Cormac (Ballinahinch) and Fearghal (Melbourne), daughters-in-law Samantha and Ola, Fearghal’s partner Lorraine, sisters Jo O’Keeffe (Celbridge) and Maureen McCann (London), brothers Tom (Dublin), Jack (Ballinahinch) and Des (Limerick), grandchildren Brendan, Declan and Maeve, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Reposing at his residence in Ballinahinch (N39 YW99) on Wednesday, February 12 from 3pm until 7pm. As parking is limited there will be shuttle buses in operation for the reposing from the Village Hall, Newtowncashel (N39 YF90). Barry Kelly, Dundrum, Dublin / Granard, Longford

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 10, 2025 of Barry Kelly of Dundrum, Dublin 16 and formerly of Granard, Co. Longford.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary & daughter Dorothea (Dorry) Murray. Sadly missed by his daughter Ann Jane Moran & son Ed Kelly, grandchildren Conor, Michael, Daniel, Christine, Mary, Steven, Alana, Conn & Donal, Brother David & sister Ann, daughter-in-law Marie, sons-in-law Michael & Tom, extended family, neighbours & friends. May he Rest in Peace.

Barry will repose at home on Wednesday, February 12 from 5pm – 7pm. His Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, February 13 at 10.30am in the Church of the Holy Cross, Dundrum, followed by burial in Mount Venus Cemetery, Rathfarnham.

The death occurred peacefully at home in the loving care of her family, on Monday, February 10, 2025 of Margaret (Peggy) Cassidy (nee Breslin), Fardromin, Ballinamuck, Longford. Predeceased by her husband Thomas, grandsons Joseph and Daniel, sister Rose and brothers Eddie and Jimmy. Loving mother to Thomas, Mary (Sorohan), Kay (Culliney) and Bernie (Hagan), mother-in-law to Ellen, Charlie, Martin and Peter. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Niamh, Thomas, Kevin, Darren, Cathal, Shane, Declan, Ciara and Liam, great-grandchildren Joe, Reily and Agnes.

Reposing at her residence in Fardromin, Ballinamuck, Co. Longford (Eircode N39 FV00) on Tuesday, February 11 from 4pm until 8pm. As parking is limited a shuttle bus will run from The 98 Bar Ballinamuck (eircode N39 CP04) during this time. Removal on Wednesday, February 12 arriving to St Patrick’s Church, Ballinamuck at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 13 at 12 noon, followed by burial in Ballinamuck new Cemetery.

Rosaleen (Rosie) Maguire, School Lane, Rathowen, Westmeath / Longford

The death occurred peacefully in Mayo University Hospital after a short illness on Monday, February 10, 2025 of Rosaleen (Rosie) Maguire School Lane, Rathowen, Westmeath / Longford. 

Predeceased by her father Joseph, mother Mary, brothers Brendan, Tommy and Eamonn, sisters Annmarie and Breege. Rosie will be sadly missed by her sisters Colette, Kathleen, Martina and Nuala, her brother Seamus, nephews, nieces, extended family and wide circle of friends. May her gentle soul Rest In Peace.

Reposing at her home on Thursday evening, February 13 from 4pm until 7pm. Requiem Mass on Friday, February 14 at 11am followed by burial in Russagh Cemetery, Rathowen. Donations if desired to St Christopher’s Services Longford, care of Gogan Funeral Directors or any family members.

Pat Sheridan (Publican), Kilcogy, Cavan

The death occurred suddenly at his home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 of Pat Sheridan (Publican), Kilcogy, Cavan. Predeceased recently by his son Adie 19/6/2024, brother Bart, sister Kitty and his parents James and Elizabeth.

Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife and best friend Carmel, children Paul (Pamela), Tracy (Danny), Claire (Jim), Tricia (Ronan), Sarah (Mark), Mary (Brian), daughter-in-law Gemma, sister Mary Kiernan, Denmore, brothers Seamus, and Donald (Bridie), sisters-in-law Julia, and Kathleen, brothers-in-law, P. J., Tommy, Colm, Christy,(Elizabeth) Michael and John, his 17 adored grandchildren, nephews, nieces, grand- nephews, grand- nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends. Reposing at Reilly's Funeral Home, Kilcogy (N39W1D6) on Wednesday evening, February 12 from 5pm to 8pm and on Thursday evening, February 13 from 5pm to 8 pm. Removal from his home on Friday morning, February 14 arriving at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mullahoran for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Internment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Fr Michael McGowan, Rathcoole, Dublin / Mohill, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the management and staff of Lisheen Nursing Home, Rathcoole on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 of Fr Michael McGowan, Rathcoole, Co Dublin and formerly Cattan and Tawlaughtmore, Mohill, Co Leitrim.

Predeceased by his parents Matt and Mary Ellen, brothers Fr Myles and John {Nellie}, sisters Kathleen, Mary, Brigid and Sr Mel. Deeply regretted by his nephews, nieces, grandnephew, grandnieces, Archbishop Dermot Farrell and priests of the Dublin archdiocese, former parishioners, relatives, neighbours and friends. Requiescat in pace.

Fr Michael will repose at Lisheen Nursing Home on Thursday, February 13 from 4pm until 5.30pm followed by removal to Church of the Holy Family Rathcoole to arrive at 6pm. Requiem Mass on Friday, February 14 at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in Mohill cemetery.

Laurence Henson, Church Street, Strokestown, Roscommon / Bray, Wicklow

The death occurred peacefully at his home with his loving partner Ruth by his side on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 of Laurence Henson, Church Street, Strokestown, Roscommon and formerly of Bray, Co Wicklow and a native of Glasgow, Scotland. 

Laurence will be sadly missed by Ruth, his sons Stephen (Glasgow) & Peter (Swansea), daughters-in-law Audrey & Kath, his grandchildren Nicky, David & Hannah, his great-grandchildren, nephews, relatives and his many friends, especially his colleagues in the film industry and fellow poets. 'May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest'.

Reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown (F42 RK72), on Friday, February 14 from 6pm until 7pm. Removal to Strokestown Parish Church on Saturday, February 15 for Funeral Mass at 11am.     James Cusack, Ballygarden, Strokestown, Roscommon / Galway

    The death occurred peacefully, in his 92nd year, in the wonderful care of the staff on St Michael’s Ward, Sacred Heart Hospital, Roscommon on Monday, February 10, 2025 of James (Jimmy) Cusack (Seámus Ó’Cíosóig) Ballygarden, Strokestown, Co Roscommon, late of Cloone, Kilbeacanty, Co Galway and Retired Headmaster of Bishop Hodson’s Grammar School, Elphin,  July 27, 1933 – February 10,  2025.

    Predeceased by his mother Ellen (née Loughrey), father James, brothers Francie and John Paul and sister-in-law Ellen (née Redmond). Devoted husband of Vera (née Duffy) and loving father of Mícheál (Naas), Séamus (Strokestown), Deirdre (Duggan, Ballinalee), Méadhbh (Hanley, Strokestown), Eibhlín (Earley, Hillstreet), Ruairí (Annaghdown) and Orla (Keegan, Four-Mile-House). He will be very sadly missed by his loving wife and children, sons-in-law Paul, Peter, Pat and David, daughters-in-law Cáit, Caroline and Annette, sisters-in-law Nancy and Pauline, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in peace.

    Reposing at Brady’s Funeral Home, Elphin (F45 Y168) on Wednesday, February 12 from 4pm to 7pm. Removal on Thursday morning, February 13 to St. Patrick’s Church, Kiltrustan (F42 N573) arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Aughrim Cemetery.     Eamon Rogan, Tooman, Mohill, Leitrim

    The death occurred unexpectedly but peacefully at home surrounded by his heartbroken family on Monday, February 10, 2025 of Eamon Rogan, Tooman, Mohill, Co Leitrim. 

    Predeceased by his beloved son Damien. Survived by his heartbroken wife Helen, son Adrian, daughters Maria and Edel, grandchildren Maddison, Christian, Adam, Noah and Myah. Sons in law Shane and Barry. Brothers, Sisters, nephews, nieces, and close friends and neighbours. May Eamon Rest in Peace.

    Reposing at his home in Tooman, Mohill, County Leitrim on Thursday, February 13 from 6pm to 9pm. (Please note, there will be a one-way traffic system in place from the Tooman side of the house – Please follow the guidance of the stewards). Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, February 14 at 12 noon in St. Michael’s Church Bornacoola, followed by burial in Gortletteragh Cemetery. 'And then one day we will all meet in Heaven'. House Strictly Private outside specified hours. The family appreciates your sympathy and support at this sad time.

    Sean Kelleher, Mottingham, London and formerly of Mullinadara, Carrigallen, Leitrim

    The death occurred unexpectedly on Friday, December 13, 2024 of Sean Kelleher, Mottingham, London and formerly of Mullinadara, Carrigallen, Leitrim. 

    Sean will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family, his partner Bushra, brother Gerry, sisters Maura (Nicholls), Bernadette (Murray), sister-in-law,brothers-in-law,nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he Rest In Peace. 

    Sean's funeral will take place in GreenAcres, Kemnal Park, Chapel, A20 Sideup Bypass., Chislehurst, Kent BR7 6RR on Friday, January 31 at 11am.
