Margaret (Maggie) Killian (née Mallon), Lettergunnell, Ballinalee, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home surrounded by her family on Friday, February 7, 2025 of Margaret (Maggie) Killian (nee Mallon) Lettergunnell, Ballinalee, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Johnnie, brother John and brother-in-law Terence Fitzpatrick. Margaret will be forever missed and always remembered with love by her family, son Ollie, daughter Geraldine (Caherly), son-in-law Eugene, daughter-in-law Sinead, her adored grandchildren Shauna, Aoife, Niamh, Sean, Joe and Anna, sister Nell, sister-in-law Eilish Mallon, nephews, niece and her great neighbours and wonderful friends. No matter how life changes, No matter what we do, A special place within our hearts, will always be kept for you. Rest in Peace Margaret.

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home Church Street, Longford N39 KN66 on Sunday, February 9 from 3pm concluding with prayers at 5pm. Removal from her son Ollie and daughter-in-law Sinead's home Treanlawn, Killoe, on Monday, February 10 travelling via her home on route to St. Patrick's Church, Ballinamuck for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Following Mass, Margaret will be laid to rest in the family plot in Kilmahon Cemetery.

Stephen Drew, Cartrun Breac, Lisbrack Road, Longford town, Co Longford / Loughlinstown, Dublin

The death occurred peacefully in the exceptional care of the nurses and staff of Roscommon Hospice on Thursday, February 6, 2025 of Stephen Drew, Cartrun Breac, Lisbrack Road, Longford town and formerly of Loughlinstown Wood, Co Dublin. 

Stephen will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, beloved wife Gabrielle, sisters-in-law Grace and Carol, brothers-in-law Mark and Brian, mother Katherine, father Christopher , sisters Louise and Elizabeth, brother Aidan, mother-in-law Kay, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace .

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Monday, February 10 from 6pm until 8pm. A service in celebration of Stephen’s life will take place in the Funeral home on Tuesday, February 11 at 12 noon, interment afterwards in St. John’s Churchyard, Battery Road, Longford. Patrick (Paddy) Mollaghan, Aughnashannagh, Ballinalee, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the care of the staff of Mullingar Regional Hospital surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 6, 2025 of Patrick (Paddy) Mollaghan) Aughnashannagh, Ballinalee, Co Longford.

Predeceased by his parents Tom and Katie, brother John and brother-in-law Dan. Paddy will be sadly missed and always remembered with love by his family, brother Tom, sisters Mary, Kathleen and Liz, brothers-in-law Bart and John, sister-in-law Peggy, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, relatives, neighbours and his many friends.

As each day dawns, we will think of you; As each night falls, we will pray for you. And throughout our lives, no matter where; In our hearts you will always be there. Rest in Peace Paddy.

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford N39 KN66 on Friday, February 7 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Funeral cortege will arrive at the Holy Trinity Church, Ballinalee, N39 PP60 on Saturday, February 8 for Funeral Mass at 2pm. Following Mass, Paddy will be laid to rest in the family plot in St Emer's Cemetery, Ballinalee. House private please.

Kathleen Kiernan (née Prior), Eanaghan, Aughnacliffe, Longford / Cavan / Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully at her home in the loving care of her family on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 of Kathleen Kiernan (née Prior), Eanaghan, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford / Cavan / Leitrim. Predeceased by her husband Johnny and her son Pauric. Dear mother of Larry, Margaret, Sean and Cathy, grandmother of Joseph, David, Derek, Keith, Conor, Lyndsey, Stephen, Siobhan, Niamh, her 12 Great-Grandchildren, her sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of friends. RIP. 

Kathleen will repose at her residence on Friday, February 7 from 2pm-10pm (N39PD98), with removal to The Sacred Heart Church, Arva (H12RY96) for her requiem mass on Saturday, February 8 at 11.30am. Cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium Cavan (H12RF78) at approximately 2pm. Catherine (Kitty) Murray (née Greene), Castlebrock, Ballinalee, Longford

The death occurred peacefully, at the Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 of Catherine (Kitty) Murray (née Greene), Castlebrock, Ballinalee, Longford. Predeceased by her husband Jimmy, her parents Kathleen and Frank, her sisters Lizette and Mary and her nephew Paddy Kearney. Sadly missed by her loving sister Gretchen Herleihy (Cork) and her brothers Kevin (Edgeworthstown), Frank, Mickey and Philip (London), nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends. "You were always someone special who will never be forgotten for we thought the world of you."

Reposing in Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home Chapel, Edgeworthstown, on Friday evening, February 7 from 5pm with prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church, Edgeworthstown, on Saturday, February 8 at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Aughafin cemetery. Breda Ferguson (née Reynolds), Skerries, Dublin / Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the care of Gormanston Lodge and Our Lady of Lourdes, Drogheda on Saturday, February 1, 2025 of Breda Ferguson (nee Reynolds) Skerries, Co Dublin/ Longford. Predeceased by her husbands Richard (Dick) Ferguson & Michael Gainsford, brother John & sister Mary Ellen.

Sadly, missed by her loving brother Michael, Sisters Elizabeth and Teresa, sisters in law, Lena and Mary, step children Francis, Gerard, Jim, Richard, Ciaran, Bernadette & Avril, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Breda Rest In Eternal Peace.

Reposing at Lannon's funeral home on Thursday, February 6 from 6pm to 8pm, removal on Friday, February 7 to St. Patrick's church Skerries arriving for 10am funeral mass, burial thereafter in Holmpatrick cemetery.

Fergus Geelan, Drumard, Mohill, Leitrim

The death occurred unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 of Fergus Geelan, Drumard, Mohill, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his parents Sonny and Nancy. Fergus will be forever missed and always remembered by his loving wife Christina, his son Oisin, daughters Clodagh, Leesa and partners, sisters Fionnuala, Gertrude (O'Neill), Ursula (Conboy), brother Mick, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and great neighbours. May Fergus Rest In Peace.

The death occurred peacefully in the tender care of the wonderful staff at Our Lady’s Hospice Harolds Cross on Thursday, February 6, 2025 of Thomas Patrick (TP) Leonard, Harolds Cross, Dublin formerly of Annaduff, Co Leitrim. 

Predeceased by his dear sister Maureen (Brady) and his parents Paddy and Annie. Sadly missed by his loving wife Teresa, his sisters Aine (Donlon) and Christine (Conroy), brother-in-law Jim, sisters-in-law Veronica and Jackie, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and his many friends and neighbours.     The death occurred peacefully in the tender loving care of the staff of Maryfield Nursing Home, Chapelizod, Dublin 20 (D20 WC89) on Thursday, February 6, 2025 of Sr Bernarda (Mae) Keville, SSL late of St Louis Convent, Rathmines/ Annaduff, Co Leitrim. 

    Predeceased by her parents Bernard and Brigid, her brothers Michael John, Bernard and Brendan. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sister-in-law Annette, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, her extended family, former colleagues, a wide circle of friends and her St. Louis Community.

    Reposing at St Louis Convent, Rathmines on Sunday February 9 from 4pm until 5pm with evening prayer. Removal from St. Louis Convent, Rathmines on Monday morning February 10 to the Church of Mary Immaculate, Refuge of Sinners, Rathmines arriving for 11.30am Mass. Burial afterwards at Kilmashogue Cemetery, Edmonstown Road, Rathfarnham.

     

    Michael Glennon, Rathfarnham, Dublin / Lanesboro, Roscommon

    The death occurred suddenly at home on Friday, January 31, 2025 of Michael Glennon, Rathfarnham, Dublin, and formerly of Cloonadra, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon. 

    Beloved husband of Mary. Loving father of Keith, Karen and Ronan. He will be very sadly missed by his wife, children, brothers Dermot, Greg and Brendan, sisters Catherine and Irene, brothers-in-law Pat and Alan, sisters-in-law Dierdre, Breda and Ann, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and his huge circle of friends (including Paddy and Mousey).

    Marie Magennis (née Coyle), Dundalk, Louth / Arva, Co Cavan

    It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing following an illness borne with great courage and dignity on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 of Marie Magennis (née Coyle), Dundalk and late of Bruse, Arva, Co Cavan, a truly wonderful lady whose life was marked by kindness, generosity and a selfless spirit.

    Marie was a source of joy to all who knew her. Her unwavering love and compassion touched many friends and family, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Though we mourn the loss of such an extraordinary soul, we take comfort in knowing that she will be reunited with her late husband Eugene Magennis.

    She will be sadly missed and forever loved by her adored daughter Megan Rose, brother Michael, sisters, Imelda and Connie (Brady), sister-in-law Breda, and brother-in-law Joe. Also remembered fondly by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. May She Rest in Peace.

    The death occurred suddenly, at Portiuncula Hospital Ballinasloe on Monday, February 3, 2025 of Jimmy Geraghty, Highbog, Rahara, Athleague, Co Roscommon. 

    Predeceased by his parents John Joe and Lena, sister Mary, nephew Thomas and sister-in-law Bridie. Deeply regretted by his loving brother Pádraig, sister Ann Corrigan (Longford), nephews Jonathan, Timmy, Graham, Patrick, nieces Caroline, Sineád, Áine, Edel, Theresa, Julie, Helena and Rosie, brother-in-law Pat, nephews-in-law, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.     Benedict Michael (Ben) Quinn, Mill House, Mill Road, Ennis, Clare / Strokestown, Roscommon

    The death occurred peacefully at Ennis Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, January 31, 2025 of Benedict Michael (Ben) Quinn, Mill House, Mill Road, Ennis, Co Clare and formerly of Strokestown, Co. Roscommon. 

    Predeceased by his sister Catherine Bain. Sadly missed by his wife Olga, daughters Zoe and Zelda, sons-in-law Neil and Wayne, adored grandchildren Iona, Samantha and Maximo, sister Viola, brother-in-law Petros, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

    The death occurred unexpectedly on Friday, December 13, 2024 of Sean Kelleher, Mottingham, London and formerly of Mullinadara, Carrigallen, Leitrim. 

    Sean will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family, his partner Bushra, brother Gerry, sisters Maura (Nicholls), Bernadette (Murray), sister-in-law,brothers-in-law,nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he Rest In Peace.
