Josie Conboy (née Guckian), Curryline, Newtownforbes, Longford / Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Saturday, January 25, 2025 of Josie Conboy (nee Guckian), Curryline, Newtownforbes, Co Longford and formerly of Breanross, Mohill, Co Leitrim.  

Predeceased by her parents Mary and James, her beloved husband Pakie, sister Bridie Molloy and recently by her sister Maisie McCann. Josie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, her twin sister Nancy Guckian, nieces Sarah, Trish and Mary, nephews Noel, Pat and Joe, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Tuesday, January 28 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, January 29 in St Mary’s Church, Newtownforbes at 12 noon, interment afterwards in Cloonmorris cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live please view here

James (Jimmy) Connor, Gaigue, Ballinamuck, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the care of the staff of St James's Hospital, Dublin on Thursday, January 23, 2025 of James (Jimmy) Connor, Gaigue, Ballinamuck, Longford. Predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth, brother Johnny and brothers-in-law William Neylon and recently deceased Seamus Dolan.

James will be forever missed and remembered with love by his family, sisters Bridget (UK), Elizabeth (UK), Mary Keane (Bray) and Helen Dolan (Killashee), brothers-in-law Michael and Tommy, sister-in-law Heather, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and his wide circle of friends. Thinking of you Jimmy is easy, We will do it every day, But missing you will be a heartache, That will never go away. Rest in peace Jimmy.

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church St, Longford N39 KN66 on Tuesday, January 28 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 6.30pm. Removal from his home on Wednesday, January 29 to arrive to St Patrick's Church, Ballinamuck N39 P386 for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Following Mass, Jimmy will be laid to rest in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery.

Ann Smyth (née Delaney), Goldsmith Terrace, Ballymahon, Longford and formerly Kilkerrin, Ballinasloe, Co Galway

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the nurses, doctors and care staff in Mullingar Regional Hospital on Sunday evening, January 26, 2025.

Predeceased by her husband John Joe. Ann will be sadly missed by her sister Mary (Boston), her nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great friends and neighbours. May Ann's Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Ann will repose in St Matthew’s Church, Ballymahon (N39 TID9) on Tuesday evening, January 28 from 5 o'clock until 7 o'clock. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, January 29 at 11 o'clock. Following Mass Ann will be laid to rest In Kilkerrin Cemetery, Kilkerrin, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. Ann's Funeral Mass will be streamed live HERE

Patrick O'Neill, Rathowen, Westmeath / Mullingar, Westmeath

The death occurred unexpectedly on Sunday, January 26, 2025 of Patrick O’Neill, Rathowen, Co Westmeath and late of Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

Predeceased by his infant daughter Rose, grandparents Eileen and William O’Neill and grandfather Paddy Gallagher. Patrick will be forever loved and dearly missed by his heartbroken parents Gerry and Denise, sister Áine, partner Rachel and their beloved son Paidí, grandmother Ethna, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and many friends. May Patrick rest in peace.

Reposing at Gilsenans Funeral Home Mullingar (N91 K660) on Wednesday, January 29 from 4.30pm to 6pm with removal to the Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 6.30pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 30 at 11 am followed by burial in Ballyglass Cemetery. The Mass may be viewed on the live HERE

Rosalie Curran (née Hyland), Corrawallen, Carrigallen, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 26, 2024 of Rosalie (Prairie) Curran, nee Hyland, Halifax, Yorkshire and formerly Corrawallen, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank, brothers William and Aubrey and sister Mary. Sadly missed by her children Pauline (Andrew) and Brian, her brother Joe, sister-in-law Claire, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, relatives and many friends. Safe in the arms of Jesus.

Funeral Service in St Columba’s Parish Church, Corrawallen, on Wednesday, January 29 at 2pm, followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard. Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu of flowers to Corrawallen Church Repair Fund c/o Gorby Funeral Director or any family member.

Olive Leddy, Lahard, Ballinamore, Leitrim

The death occurred on Sunday, January 26, 2025 of Olive Leddy, Lahard, Ballinamore, Leitrim.

She will be deeply regretted and greatly missed by her loving father Paddy (Mary), her beloved daughter Rachel (David), her adored grandchildren Eve and David, her mother Eileen, aunt Betty and cousins in Carlow, aunts Alice, Eleanor & Ursula, cousins and many friends in Ballinamore, and her friend from childhood Lisa. Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim (N41 TD62) on Wednesday, January 29 from 6pm to 8pm. A cremation ceremony will be held on Thursday, January 30 at 11am in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan. House Strictly private at all times to family and close friends only.

Barbara Conlon (née Lennon), Ballinagh, Cavan / Rush, Dublin

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 of Barbara Conlon (née Lennon), Ballinagh, Cavan and formerly of Rush, Dublin. 

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Declan, brother Brendan, sons Robert and Steven, daughter Jennifer, stepdaughters Sarah and Susan and their partners Michelle, Shane and Jason, grandchildren Lorcan, Noah, Finn, Grace, Mia and James, extended family, nephews, nieces, Cecil and her dear friends. May Barbara Rest In Peace.

Betty (Bridget) McAndrew (née Mulligan), Beeston, Nottingham and previously of Drumshanbo South, Farnaught, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family aged 91 on Sunday, December 22, 2024 of Betty (Bridget) McAndrew (née Mulligan) of Beeston, Nottingham and previously of Drumshanbo South, Farnaught, Co Leitrim.

Now reunited with her beloved Frank. A cherished mother to Katrina, Bernadette, Fiona, Grainne and Rosaleen. An adoring grandmother to Francesca, Joseph and Ciaran Bond. A warm hearted mother-in-law to Tom and a dear sister to Mary Curtis (Raheny, Dublin). Betty will be greatly missed by her heartbroken family and all those who loved her. Pre-deceased by her loving parents James and Ann (nee Scanlon) and her sister Annie. 

Betty will be received into the Church of The Assumption, Beeston on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 5pm. Her Requiem Mass will take place the following morning on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 11am, before being laid to rest with her husband Frank at Beeston Cemetery. Live streaming of the Mass will be available for viewing. The death occurred on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 of Michael Smith, Drumsna, Co Leitrim, formerly of Palmerstown and Finglas, Dublin.

Predeceased by his loving wife Anne, his parents Patrick and Maureen, his sisters Mary and Julie. Michael will be forever loved, and his memory will be treasured. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Margaret, Rosemarie, Liz, Anne-Marie, his brothers Owen, Bobby and Andy, their wives, husbands and partner, his nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours. Reposed at his home in No. 5 Oak Meadows, Drumsna on Sunday, January 26 from 3pm. Removal to St. Mary's Church, Carrick on Shannon on Monday, January 27 for 11am Mass, following on afterwards to Lakelands Crematorium for 2pm cremation.

William (Willy) Fay, Freighmore, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath

The death occurred peacefully, at his home, in his 94th year on Thursday, January 23, 2025 of William (Willy) Fay, Freighmore, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath.

Predeceased by his parents and his brother Jimmy. Deeply regretted by his brother Michael, sister Molly (Cullen), his nephews and nieces Pat, Milo, Marese, Imelda, Lorna, Martina, Eamon, Barry, Ciaran and Greg, relatives, neighbours and friends. May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Reposed at Shaw's Funeral Home, Bishopsgate Street, Mullingar (N91 RY65) on Saturday, January 25 from 5.30pm to 7pm, followed by removal to St Michael's Church, Castlepollard, arriving for 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, January 27 at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in St Michael's Cemetery, Castlepollard. The Funeral Mass will be broadcast live HERE

The death occurred unexpectedly on Friday, December 13, 2024 of Sean Kelleher, Nottingham, London and formerly of Mullinadara, Carrigallen, Leitrim. 

Sean will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family, his partner Bushra, brother Gerry, sisters Maura (Nicholls),Bernadette (Murray), sister-in-law,brothers-in-law,nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he Rest In Peace.
