The death occurred on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 of John Sorohan, Newtownforbes, Longford. Predeceased by his parents, Charlie and Ellen, sister Alice, brothers Dan, Mick and Charlie, son in law Sean Mulleady, nephew Philip and grandnephew Daniel. John will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife Rose, sons Cathal, Sean and Gary, daughters Teresa, Eileen and Laura, son in law Gerard, daughters in law Liz and Mary, his adored grandchildren Sharon, Claire, Bridget, Alan, Mark, David, Sean, Josh, Grace, Jack and Fionn, sisters in law, nephews and nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposing in Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81), on Thursday, January 23 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal from his home on Friday, January 24 to arrive at St Mary’s Church, Newtownforbes for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Following Mass, John will be laid to rest in Newtownforbes Cemetery. Sheila Walsh (née Dowd), St Brigid's Terrace, Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred on Monday, January 20, 2025 of Sheila Walsh (nee Dowd), St Brigid’s Terrace, Longford town and formerly of Fortwilliam, Newtowncashel, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by her daughter Mary Bridget McNamara (Leganomer, Aughavas), parents Bernard and Bridget Dowd, sisters Bridget and Mary Kate and by her brothers John and Bernard. Sheila will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, brother Michael Dowd (Williamstown, Co Galway), sister-in-law Teresa, grandchildren Eugene and Sheila McNamara, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and all the wonderful staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home Chapel, Longford (N39 XE92) on Thursday, January 23 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Dorothy Woodcock, Bohermore, Ardagh, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully, in the loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff in Autumn Lodge at St Joseph's Care Centre, Dublin Road, Longford on Monday, January 20, 2025 of Dorothy Woodcock, Bohermore, Ardagh, Longford and formerly of Harrogate, England.

Predeceased by her husband David and by her parents Tom and Annie Dyal (nee Butler), Abbeyshrule. Sadly missed by her loving cousins, her kind neighbours and circle of very good friends. Rest in peace.

Private cremation ceremony will take place in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan, on Friday, January 24.

Bridget Teague (née McDonnell), Vicarstown, Carrickboy, Longford

The death occurred unexpectedly in Mullingar Regional Hospital surrounded by her heartbroken family on Saturday, January 18, 2025 of Bridget Teague (née McDonnell), Vicarstown, Carrickboy, Longford. Predeceased by her parents Bernard and Maureen, sisters Alice and Nicola and niece Jacqueline.

Bridget will be sadly missed by her loving family, husband and best friend Tom, son Thomas, daughters Dorina, Caroline and Michelle, sons-in-law Billy, Tommy and Paul, daughter-in-law Sarah, her adored grandchildren Adam, Jordan, Toyah, Katie, Holly, Zoe and James and her great-granddaughter Freya, brothers James, Paddy-Joe and Michael, sisters Martina, Phyllis, Kathleen and Bernadette, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, relatives neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Our Lady's Manor Chapel, Edgeworthstown on Tuesday, January 21 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal from her home on Wednesday, January 22 to arrive to St Mary's Church, Legan for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Following Mass, Bridget will be laid to rest in Abbeyshrule Cemetery. Family home private please.

The death occurred on Monday, January 20, 2025 of Raymond Neilon, Tonywarden, Granard, Co Longford. Predeceased by his father Tom. Raymond will be sadly missed by his loving mother Eithne, sisters Lorna (Glenn), Elaine (Niall), brothers Niall (Donna), Gary, and Alan (Suzie), nieces and nephews, Nicole, Seanán, Tom, Fiadh, Aodhán, Carla, Alisha, Megan, Aaron, Finn, Keeva, Davin, Alison, Saoirse and Cáitlin, uncles, aunts, relatives, many great friends and neighbours. Reposing at his sister and brother-in- laws house, Elaine and Niall Sheridan, Lisryan, Co Longford (Eircode N39T864) on Thursday, January 23 from 3pm to 8pm. Removal from Lisryan on Friday, January 24 to St Mary's Church, Granard, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by Christian burial in Granardkill cemetery. Kathleen Moughty, 4 Oakdown Court, Convent Avenue, Bray, Wicklow / Ballymahon, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the care of St Columcille's Hospital, Loughlinstown on Saturday, January 18, 2025 of Kathleen Moughty, 4 Oakdown Court, Convent Avenue, Bray, Wicklow/ Ballymahon, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her brothers Jimmy, Jack, and Michael. Sadly missed by her loving nieces Valerie and Sinead, nephews Ciaran, Declan, and J.J., grandnieces Ciara, Lisa, and Emma, grandnephews Shane and Cian, and great-grandniece Saoirse. Rest in peace.

Kathleen will repose at St Matthew's Church, Ballymahon, N39 T1D9 on Tuesday, January 21 from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass is on Wednesday, January 22 at 12 noon. The death occurred unexpectedly at her residence and late of Corlea, Eslinbridge, Mohill on Monday, January 20, 2025 of Caitriona Duffy (nee McCrann) Breanross South, Farnaught PO, Mohill, Co Leitrim.

Deeply regretted by her husband Pat, sons Colm, Niall and Alan, daughters Eimear and Carla, daughter-in-law Carol, her adored grandchildren Éanna and Rían, sisters Elizabeth and Rosarii, brothers Liam and Seamus, brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nephews and nieces, extended relatives and large circle of friends.

The death occurred tragically following an accident on Saturday, January 18, 2025 of Dmytro Yefimenko, Main Street, Ballinagh, Co Cavan.  

Dmytro will be deeply missed by his beloved daughter Alina, mother Lyubov’, father Anatoliy, brother Vladimir, granddaughter Evangelina, all his nieces, nephews, extended family, many friends, and his work colleagues.

Brian Finnegan, Killamaun, Mohill, Leitrim

The death occurred  peacefully, at Sligo University Hospital on Monday, January 20, 2025 of Brian Finnegan Killamaun, Mohill, Co Leitrim. The death occurred peacefully at her home on Tuesday January 21, 2025 of Margaret Wynne, 8 Rockwell Park, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim.  

Predeceased by her parents James and Agnes McGowan, and her brothers Peter and Jimmy. Margaret will be sadly missed by her husband Paul, her sons Alan, Ricki and Brian, daughters-in-law Mags, Triona and Sara, grandchildren Adam, Megan, Shea, Billie and Mio, her brothers Brendan, Frank (Mary) and Patrick, her sisters Mary (Padraic), Ann, Agnes and Patricia (Gerry), nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours. The death occurred peacefully at Shannon Lodge Nursing Home Rooskey in the early hours of Monday, January 20, 2025 of Bryan P Malone, Gracepark House, Ballytoohey, Tarmonbarry, County Roscommon.

Deeply regretted by his wife Miriam, son Justin, daughter Clodagh, brother David, grandchildren Lauren, Cian, Callum, Alex, Thea, nephews, nieces and many friends.

Reposing at Leavy’s Funeral Home, Scramogue (F42FD78) on Wednesday evening, January 22 from 5 pm to 7pm. Removal to St Anne's Church Scramogue (F42DX40) on Thursday, January 23 for 12 Noon Mass. Burial afterwards in Killglass Cemetery.

Barbara Conlon (née Lennon), Ballinagh, Cavan / Rush, Dublin

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 of Barbara Conlon (née Lennon), Ballinagh, Cavan and formerly of Rush, Dublin. 

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Declan, brother Brendan, sons Robert and Steven, daughter Jennifer, stepdaughters Sarah and Susan and their partners Michelle, Shane and Jason, grandchildren Lorcan, Noah, Finn, Grace, Mia and James, extended family, nephews, nieces, Cecil and her dear friends. May Barbara Rest In Peace.

The death occurred peacefully at home and surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 20, 2025 of Gertrude Hurley (née Casey), Blackrock, Co Dublin and formerly Mohill, Co Leitrim.

Gertrude will be deeply missed by her devoted husband Jim, cherished children Sharon, Mark, Susan, Samantha, Mary, and their spouses, her 17 adored grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her wide circle of friends. May she Rest in Peace.

The death occurred peacefully at the Mayo Hospice Castlebar, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 19, 2025 of Sarah Denchfield (née Kelly), Shillington, Bedfordshire, England and formerly of St Patrick's Street, Castlerea, Co Roscommon. Predeceased by her father (Miko) (March 2024).

Sarah is deeply regretted by her heart-broken family, her husband Justin, her beloved mother Maura and her siblings Jimmy (Brussels), Paddy (Castlerea), Michael (London), Mark, Fidelma, Martin, Paul and Judith (Castlerea) and Margaret (Annaduff). Also, by her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, her father-in-law Simon and mother-in-law Pamela, her brothers-in-law Kevin Shaughnessy, Luke Flanagan, Mark Rowley and Noel Denchfield, sister-in-law Sarah, aunts, uncles, cousins, her extended family, her neighbours and her large circle of friends especially her canine friend Charlie. Betty (Bridget) McAndrew (née Mulligan), Beeston, Nottingham and previously of Drumshanbo South, Farnaught, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family aged 91 on Sunday, December 22, 2024 of Betty (Bridget) McAndrew (née Mulligan) of Beeston, Nottingham and previously of Drumshanbo South, Farnaught, Co Leitrim.

Now reunited with her beloved Frank. A cherished mother to Katrina, Bernadette, Fiona, Grainne and Rosaleen. An adoring grandmother to Francesca, Joseph and Ciaran Bond. A warm hearted mother-in-law to Tom and a dear sister to Mary Curtis (Raheny, Dublin). Betty will be greatly missed by her heartbroken family and all those who loved her. Pre-deceased by her loving parents James and Ann (nee Scanlon) and her sister Annie. 

Betty will be received into the Church of The Assumption, Beeston on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 5pm. Her Requiem Mass will take place the following morning on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 11am, before being laid to rest with her husband Frank at Beeston Cemetery. Live streaming of the Mass will be available for viewing. Ann, beloved wife of the late Patrick and sister of the late Paddy, John and Peggy. Ann will be sadly missed by her sisters Bridie Beirne (Castlerea), Mary Cox (Strokestown) and Eileen Dowling (Roscommon). Also, by her sister-in-law Maureen, brothers-in-law Michael and Vincent, her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, nieces-in-law, nephews-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends. Reposing at Glenamaddy Community Centre, (F45 YO30) on Tuesday evening, January 21 from 6pm until 8pm with removal at 8:15pm to St. Patrick’s Church, Glenamaddy (F45 A339). Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, January 22 at 1.30pm with burial afterwards to Creggs Road Cemetery.     The death occurred peacefully at his home in the loving care of his family on Sunday, December 15, 2024 of Felix Harten, Birmingham, England and formerly Carnagh Upper, Kilcogy, Co Cavan.   

    Predeceased by his parents Felix and Rose, his beloved son Colin, sisters Kathleen and Eithne and brother Benny.

    Sadly missed by his loving wife Elizabeth, sons Phelim (Linda), Thomas (Nicola), Dermot (Franchesca) and daughter Mary (Andrew), grandchildren Freddy, Felix and Lizabella, brothers Paddy (Carnagh), James (Navan), sisters and brothers in law, nephews, nieces relatives and a large circle of friends.
