The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 of Margaret Cowan (née Hughes), Teffia Park, Longford Town, Longford. Predeceased by her beloved husband Tommy, grand-daughter Alison and by her brother John.

Margaret will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughters Deirdre Forde and Lorraine Fay, son Martin, daughter-in-law Gillian, sons-in-law Freddie (John) and Vincent, brothers Charles and Denis, sisters-in-law Wendy and Tricia, grandchildren Jemma, Amy, Marc, Nicole, David, Dylan, Isabelle, Alex and Maria, great-grandchildren Adam, Alex, Emily, Oisín, Ella and Jack, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Friday, January 17 from 7pm with Prayers at 9pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday, January 18 in St Mel’s Cathedral at 11am. Interment afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery. The Mass will be streamed live HERE. Anne Donohoe (née Devine), Creevy, Granard, Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the exceptional care of the nurses and staff at Cluain Lir Care Centre, Mullingar on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 of Anne Donohoe (née Devine), Creevy, Granard, Longford. Predeceased by her husband Joe, son Johnny, sisters Margaret and Catherine. Anne will be sadly missed by her loving son Joe, daughter-in-law Helen, grandchildren Ava, Cormac and Aideen, brother James, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Anne's Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Reposing at Smith’s Funeral home Barrack Street, Granard, Co Longford (Eircode N39AX97) on Friday, January 17 from 6pm to 8pm. Removal on Saturday, January 18 to St Mary’s Church, Carra for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by Christian burial in the adjoining cemetery.

 

Peter Newman, Drinan, Ballymahon, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Thomand Lodge Nursing Home, Ballymahon surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 of Peter Newman, Drinan, Ballymahon, Co Longford.

Predeceased by his father Thomas, mother Alice and infant brother William. Peter will be sadly missed by his loving wife Carol, sons and daughters Mark, Ann, Alice and Thomas, son-in-law John, Thomas’ partner Laura, his adored grandchildren, Simeon, Ava, Freya, Charlie and Adam, brother Michael, sister Cathy, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. May Peter Rest in peace.

Peter will repose at Kelly’s Funeral Home, Unit 2A, Royal Canal Business Park, Athlone Road, Longford Town, N39 K381, on Thursday, January 16 from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 17 in St Matthew's Church, Ballymahon, Co Longford at 11am followed by burial afterwards in Abbeyshrule Cemetery. If you are unable to attend, the Mass may be viewed on the Facebook page of St Matthews Church, Ballymahon. Family Flowers only and house strictly private.

Maisie McCann (née Guckian), Crieve, Killoe, Longford / Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 of Maisie McCann (nee Guckian), Crieve, Killoe, Co Longford and formerly of Breanross, Mohill, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by her husband Jim and by her sister Bridie Molloy. Maisie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, dear daughter Mary, sisters Josie Conboy and Nancy Guckian, nieces Sarah and Trish, nephews Noel, Pat and Joe, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.

Kathleen (Kitty) McGlynn (née Fallon), College Park, Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred peacefully at home on Monday, January 13, 2025 of  Kathleen (Kitty) McGlynn (nee Fallon), College Park, Longford town. 

Pre-deceased by her parents Michael and Winifred , sisters Angela and Mary and by her beloved husband Bernard. Kitty will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, dear son David, sister Teresa Kyle, brother Pat Fallon, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at her residence (N39 R2A2) on Wednesday, January 15 from 4pm until 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday, January 16 in St. Mel’s Cathedral at 11am. Interment afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Newbrook Lodge Nursing Home on Monday, January 13, 2025 of Alex O'Sullivan (BE CEng), Tennis Court Lane, Battery Road, Longford town/ Curraghroe, Roscommon.

Predeceased by his loving wife Máirín, parents Robert and Florence and by his sisters Kathleen and Sr. Rosemary. Alex will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family; son Robert, daughters Anne and Meabh, sister-in-law Nuala, daughter-in-law Linda, sons-in-law Ian and Colin, grandchildren Ríain, Ólann, Thomas, Joseph, Katherine, Ruairí, Shauna and Cody, brother-in-law John, nephews William and Stewart, relatives, neighbours and friends. Carmel Tanner, Upper Elphin Street, Strokestown, Roscommon / Drogheda, Louth / Drogheda, Meath

The death occurred peacefully, in the care of all the staff at Roscommon Hospice, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 of Carmel Tanner, Upper Elphin Street, Strokestown, Roscommon / Drogheda, Louth / Drogheda, Meath (former Public Health Nurse in Drogheda).

Carmel will be sadly missed by her sorrowing sister's Sr. Edel (Rita) M.M.M., Mary (Sexton), her brother's George & John, nieces Mary & Rita, nephews Kevin, John & Sean, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Carmel is predeceased by her parents Edward Joseph & Bridget, and her sister Helen. Rest In Peace. 

Reposing in McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown, on Friday, January 17 from 5.30pm until 7pm, followed by Removal to the Parish Church. Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 18 at 10.30am. Burial afterwards in Strokestown Cemetery.

Annie Heyneman, Kilnavart, Ballyconnell, Cavan

The death occurred suddenly on Saturday, January 11, 2025 of Annie Heyneman, Kilnavart, Ballyconnell, Cavan. Predeceased by her parents Maureen and Dan McLaughlin.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Henk, her children, brother and sisters, future son-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, with the support and care of his wonderful nurses and carers in Clontarf Private Nursing Home on Sunday, January 12, 2025 of Michael Columba (Colm) Martin, Clontarf, Dublin and formerly Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim. 

Predeceased by his beloved wife Nuala. Colm will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his son and daughter Niall and Maev, daughter-in-law Eimear, grandson Gus, sisters in law Miriam, Mildred and Mary, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by her husband Thomas, son Ronan, parents James and Margaret (Drumsna), sisters Crissi, Peggy, Patsy, brothers Seamus and P.J. Beloved mother of Martina, Joan, Danny and Damian. Mother in law of Michael, Sheana, Amelija and Caroline. Beloved wife of Michael, mother of James (Michelle) Castlepollard, Michelle (Barry) and Natasha (Brendan) Newbliss. Predeceased by her parents Jimmy and Fanny. Sorely missed by her loving grandchildren Michaela, Tegan, Ella, Shinia, Josh and Oisin.     Predeceased by his parents Josie and Ann; brothers Pat and Tommy, brother-in-law Micheál, sister-in-law Rose.     The death occurred peacefully at his home in the loving care of his family on Sunday, December 15, 2024 of Felix Harten, Birmingham, England and formerly Carnagh Upper, Kilcogy, Co Cavan. Predeceased by his parents Felix and Rose his beloved son Colin sisters Kathleen and Eithne and brother Benny.

    Sadly missed by his loving wife Elizabeth sons Phelim (Linda) Thomas (Nicola) Dermot (Franchesca) daughter Mary (Andrew) grandchildren Freddy, Felix and Lizabella, brothers Paddy (Carnagh), James (Navan), sisters and brothers in law, nephews, nieces relatives and a large circle of friends. May he rest in peace.

    The death occurred unexpectedly on Friday, December 13, 2024 of Sean Kelleher, Nottingham, London and formerly of Mullinadara, Carrigallen, Leitrim. 

    Sean will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family, his partner Bushra, brother Gerry, sisters Maura (Nicholls),Bernadette (Murray), sister-in-law,brothers-in-law,nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he Rest In Peace.
