The death occurred peacefully at his home in the care of his loving family on Monday, January 6, 2025 of Michael (Mick) Casey, Derraghanmore, Longford.

It is with deep sadness that Mick's family, his wife Kathleen, his daughters Louise and Áine, his son Coilín, his brother Billy and his brother-in-law Martin, share the news of his death. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends. Pre-deceased by his parents, Thomas and Annie (nee Murray), sisters Mai, Frances Whearty and brothers Jim, Pat, and Thomas (Sonny).

Mick will be reposing in the church of the blessed Virgin, Newtowncashel (N39 FX29) on Wednesday, January 8 from 5pm to 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday, January 9 at 12 noon, followed by burial in Cashel cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed HERE. 

Mary Donoghue, Nazareth Village, Sligo Town, Sligo / Ballinalee, Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the exceptional care of the staff at North West Hospice, The Mall, Sligo on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 of Mary Donoghue (née Donlon), Nazareth Village, Sligo and late of Ballinalee, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her husband Frank. Dearly loved mother of Francis (Sligo), Anthony (Vivian) New York and Brendan (Bridget) New York. Sadly missed by her family, sister Geraldine Bohan (Annaduff, Co. Leitrim), grandchildren Liam, Caitlin, Francis, James, Collin, Kevin and Fiona, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Rest in Peace.

Bridie Clarke (née Clarke), Aughnamadoo, Drumlish, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully at home in the wonderful care of her family on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 of Bridie Clarke (nee Clarke), Aughnamadoo, Drumlish, Co Longford.  

Predeceased by her husband Jimmy, her infant son Michael, sisters Kathleen Brady and Molly McWeeney. Bridie will be sadly missed and always remembered by her loving family, daughters Anne-Marie, Fiona, Breda and Pauline, sons-in law Kevin Cumiskey, Trevor Walshe and Stephen Hand and Pauline's partner David Brennan, her adored grandchildren Sinead, Owen, Nora, Jimmy, Isla, Nessa, Cillian, Clodagh, David, Liam and Seán, sisters and brothers-in-law Ellie and Jack Fitzpatrick and Anna and (Sonny rip) Kinlan, Andy Brady and Willie McWeeney (rip), brothers and sisters-in-law Charlie and Evelyn, Gene and Dimpna and Mattie and Geraldine, nieces, nephews, relatives neighbours and dear friends. Mary (Catherine) Bonner (née Hatfield), 4 Overburn Crescent, Dumbarton, Scotland / Longford

The death occurred peacefully in Scotland on Sunday, November 10, 2024 of Mary (Catherine) Bonner (nee Hatfield), 4 Overburn Crescent, Dumbarton, Scotland / Longford.

She will be sadly missed by her brother Brian, sister-in-law Madge, nephew Ian, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace.

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford N39 KN66 on Thursday, January 9 from 9.30am to 10.30am, followed with removal to St Mel's Cathedral Longford for Funeral Mass at 11am. Daniel Harvey, Finglas, Dublin / Longford Town, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully at the Mater Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 of Daniel Harvey, Finglas, Dublin/ Longford town.

Beloved husband of Bridie and cherished father of Marie, Darnell, Gerard, Regina, and Laurence. Formerly of Longford Town, and late of the Irish Army and Burges Galvin, Jamestown Road, Finglas. Danny will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his devoted wife, children, grandchildren Danielle, Glenn, Karl, Ross, Teegan, and Craig, great-grandchildren Emily, Tillymae, Harry, and Wayne, sons-in-law Paul and William, sisters Mary, Philo, and Angela, brother Edward, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Forever in our hearts, his legacy of love and kindness will live on. May He Rest In Peace.

Reposing at Michael Doyle Funeral Home, Finglas Village, on Friday, January 10 between 3pm and 5pm. Removal on Saturday morning, January 11 to Saint Oliver Plunkett’s Church, Rivermount, Finglas South, arriving for 10am Funeral Mass. Thereafter to Dardistown Cemetery for burial.

Dan Mel Reilly, Glasscarrick, Loughduff, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 of Dan Mel Reilly, Glasscarrick, Loughduff, Cavan.

Predeceased by his parents Daniel and Rose Anne, sister Christine and nephew Finbarr. Sadly missed by his loving wife Ena, sons Danny (Tracey), Conleth (Leanne) and daughter Maggie (Michael), sister Rosemary (Mullinalaghta), Rita (Abbeylara), Tess (Galway), and Philis (Creighan, Cavan), grandchildren Michaela, Caolan, Emmett, Kate, Danial, Diarmuid, Hannah, Daire, Lauren, Ultan, and Sadie, brother in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends. Reposing at Reilly's Funeral home Kilcogy (N39W1D6) on Thursday, January 9 from 5pm with prayers at 8pm. Anna Gilmartin (née Mulvey), Corlough, Drumshanbo, Leitrim

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing peacefully at Sligo University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family after an illness fought with dignity, courage and faith on Monday, January 6, 2025 of Anna Gilmartin (née Mulvey), Corlough, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim.  

Pre-deceased by her parents Patrick and Bridget Mulvey and sister-in-law Maureen. Anna is dearly missed by her husband Pat, loving children David, Ray and Lorraine McNamara (Dromahaire), her adoring grandchildren Finn, Nathan and Casey, son-in-law Declan, her siblings Frank (Chicago), Padraic (Pat), and Kathleen Foley, cousins Kevin and Michael Fox, brothers and sisters-in-law, her nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces, relatives, wonderful neighbours and large circle of friends. She will be deeply missed by all those lucky enough to have known her. "May her gentle soul rest in peace".

Removal to St. Patrick's Church, Drumshanbo, on Thursday, January 9 for Funeral Mass at 1pm followed by burial in the New Cemetery. The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 5, 2025 of Mary McInerney (nee McIntyre) Shannow Wood, Cavan and formerly Cornamuckla, Gowna, Co Cavan.  

Predeceased by her loving husbands Seamus Maguire and Philip McInerney, parents Joseph and Bridget, brothers Paddy, Larry, Joe, Seamus and sister Kathleen. She will be forever loved and sadly missed by her adored children Shane (Jenny), Philomena (Charlie) and Joe (Louise), grandchildren Amy, Saibh, Rian, Philip, Katie, Alfie and her beloved and adored great granddaughter Freya. Sadly missed by her brother Eamon McIntyre (Granard), sisters Breedge Gettings (Granard) and Margaret Fitzgerald (Dublin) and all of her much loved nieces, nephews, brothers in law, sisters in law, extended family and close friends.

Reposing at Finnegans Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 7 from 7.30pm with prayers at 9pm. Mary has chosen to donate her body to medical science. As such, there will be no funeral mass. Instead, a mass to celebrate her life will be organised in the coming days. Maura O'Keefe (née Mulligan), Dunbeggan, Aughnacliffe, Longford

The death occurred after a short illness and surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 24, 2024 of Maura O'Keefe (née Mulligan), Sutton, Surrey, England and formerly Dunbeggan, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford. Predeceased by her father Paddy, niece Leah, baby Niall and baby Donna. Maura will be forever missed by her husband Michael, daughters Geraldine (Paul), Nicola (Dean), son Gavin and her adoring grandchildren Billy, Jake, Holly, Amy, Ava, Maisey, her mother Maisie, sisters Margaret, Annarose, Martina, Lisa and Celia, brothers Padraig, Seamie, Francie and Barry, her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and large circle of friends. Funeral Mass on January 15 in the Holy Family Church, Sutton Green, Sutton followed by cremation at North East Surrey Crematorium. There will be a Mass in St Colmcille Church to celebrate Maura's life at a later date.

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of all the staff at Shannon Lodge Nursing Home, Rooskey on Sunday, January 5, 2025 of Tony Flaherty, Upper Elphin Street, Strokestown, Roscommon.

Beloved husband of Mae and loving father of Anthony and Shane. Tony will be sadly missed by his sorrowing wife and sons, nephews, niece, cousins especially Patty, sisters-in-law Anne Walsh and Sr Phyllis (Marist Order), neighbours, relatives and many friends. Tony is predeceased by his parents John Joe and Katie, sisters Myra and Dell, brothers Sean and Martin. Rest In Peace.

Brigid Kellegher (née Burns), Mullingar, Westmeath / Cavan / Bornacoola, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and under the exceptional care of the staff of Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar on Sunday, January 5, 2025 of Brigid Kellegher (nee Burns) Mullingar and formerly of Rooskynamona, Bornacoola Co Leitrim and Cavan Town.

Brigid was the beloved wife of the late John (Jack) (Cloonart, Longford) and predeceased by her sister Sr. Eileen and brothers Loughlin and Terry. Deeply missed by her children Marie (Walsh, Killarney), Eithne, John, Tina, Colum, and Dominick, sons-in-law Dermott and Gordon, daughters-in-law Marian, Oonagh, and Aoife. Brigid was a cherished grandmother to Elena, Jake, Anna, Lily, Michael, Irene, Isobel and Brian, and a great-grandmother to Braxton. She also leaves behind her sister Annette, sisters-in-law Geraldine and Stella, brother-in-law John as well as a large circle of extended family, neighbours, and friends who will mourn her loss. May Brigid rest in peace.

Reposing at her home (College Hill, Mullingar) on Tuesday, January 7 from 3pm until 8pm. Brigid’s Funeral Cortège will leave her home on Wednesday morning, January 8 to the Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar for Requiem Mass at 1pm.

The death occurred peacefully at his home in the loving care of his family on Sunday, December 15, 2024 of Felix Harten, Birmingham, England and formerly Carnagh Upper, Kilcogy, Co Cavan. Predeceased by his parents Felix and Rose his beloved son Colin sisters Kathleen and Eithne and brother Benny.
