Angela Greer (née Duke), formerly of St Brigid's Terrace, Longford town, Co  Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing home on Monday, December 2, 2024 of Angela Greer (nee Duke), formerly of St Brigid's Terrace, Longford town. 

Pre-deceased by her parents Michael and Annie, brothers Michael and John, sister Margaret, daughters Margaret and Helen. Angela will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, sister Chrissie Smyth (U.K.), grandchildren Andrew, Patrick, Tamantha and Shaniece, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace. 

Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, December 6 in St. Mel’s Cathedral at 11am, followed by private cremation. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live please view here

Mary Corr (née Gibney), Wateraughey, Ballinagh, Cavan

The death occurred, suddenly in the loving care of her family and the staff of the Coronary Care unit Cavan General Hospital, on Thursday, December 5, 2024 of Mary Corr (née Gibney), Wateraughey, Corlismore, Cavan. Predeceased by her parents Brian and Nora Gibney, brother Seamus and nephew Patrick.

Mary will be very sadly missed and forever remembered by her loving husband Brendan, sons Bernard and Gerard (Deirdre), daughters Catriona and Carmel (John), granddaughters Michaela, Avah, Emma, Niamh, Aoife, sister-in-law Breege, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and many close friends. May She Rest in peace.

Mary will repose at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, H12RF78 on Friday, December 6 from 6pm until 8pm. Removal from her home on Sunday morning  December 8 at 11.30am to St Michael’s Church, Potahee, to arrive for 12 noon Requiem Mass, with interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Fr Sean O'Dowd, Kiltegan, Wicklow / Newtowncashel, Longford,

The death occurred on Monday, December 2, 2024 of Fr Sean O’Dowd SPS, St Patrick’s Missionary Society, Kiltegan, Co Wicklow and formerly of Aughnacross, Newtowncashel, Co Longford and the diocese of Calabar, Nigeria. 

Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mary, his brother Michael, his brother-in-law Ray and sister-in-law Maureen. Sadly missed by his brothers PJ, Gerry and Brendan, his sisters Mary and Collette and sisters-in-law Teresa, Carmel and Frances, his nieces and nephews and their families, his wide circle of friends and his Society family in Kiltegan.

Funeral Mass in St Patrick’s Chapel, Kiltegan, on Thursday, December 5 at 12 noon followed by burial in the Society Cemetery. The Mass will be live-streamed on https://www.mcn.live/Camera/st-patricks-missionary-society

Veronica Kenny (née O'Toole) Corrick, Aughamore, Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the University Hospital Sligo on Monday, December 2, 2024 of Veronica Kenny (nee O'Toole) Corrick, Aughamore, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Bill and brother George. Veronica will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family, daughters Martina McGarry (Corduff) and Bernadette McKiernan (Cloone), sons-in-law Peter and Gerard, her adored grandchildren Caroline, Majella, Deirdre, Dymphna, Alan and Ryan, also her 12 great-grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and her many dear friends.

Veronica will repose in St Mary's Church, Annaduff, Aghamore, Co. Leitrim on Wednesday, December 4 from 6pm until 7.30pm. Removal from her home on Thursday, December 5 to arrive to St Mary's Church, Annaduff for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass, Veronica will be laid to rest in the family plot in the adjoining Cemetery. Family home private please.

Joe Ganley, Attifinlay, Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim, N41 AV20

The death occurred suddenly on Sunday, December 1, 2024 of Joe Ganley, Attifinlay, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim (Retired Army 19th Battalion and Civil Defence). 

Predeceased by his parents Pat and Kathleen, brothers Pat, and Tom, sisters Maureen, Cathy, Berry and Patsy. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, wife Bridie, sons William (Ballygar), Joseph (Mallow, Cork), Alan (Longford), daughters Brenda Corrigan (Roscommon), Catherine Clancy (Drumkeeran), Clodagh Taber (Swords), daughters-in-law Geraldine and Ann, sons-in-law Michael, PJ and Steve. His adored grandchildren Darren, Elaine, Emma, Laura, Aoife, Liam, Niamh, Ciaran, Shauna, Bronagh, Ruairí, Thomas, Óisin, Caelan, Niall, Hazel, Ella and Lilly. Great grandchildren Patrick, Nathan, Eve, Beth, Maisie and Connaill, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and his many friends. May He Rest In Peace.

Reposing at his residence (N41 AV20) on Thursday, December 5 from 3pm until 7pm. With removal to St Mary’s Church, Carrick-on-Shannon on Friday morning, December 6 arriving for Mass of Christian burial at 11am with burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery. Funeral Mass will be streamed live Joe's Funeral Mass House private at all other times please.     Andy Lannon, Clooneylyons, Strokestown, Roscommon

    The death occurred peacefully, but unexpectedly, at Portiuncla Hospital, Ballinasloe on Saturday, November 30, 2024 of Andy Lannon, Clooneylyons, Strokestown, Roscommon former school bus driver with CIE. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Mary Kate.

    Beloved husband of Patsy and much loved father of Ursula, Andrew, Adrian and Sandra. Andy will be sadly missed by his heartbroken wife and family, his brother Oliver, grandchildren Jack, Caolan, Caoimhe, Fionn & Donnacha, sons-in-law Marty & James, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest In Peace.

    Reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown, on Wednesday, December 4 from 5pm until 7pm. Removal from the family home on Thursday, December 5 to St Mary's Church, Carniska, to arrive for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Strokestown Cemetery.
