Anne Donnelly (née Bartley), Clonrollagh, Longford

The death occurred peacefully, in the loving care of the nurses and staff of St. Joseph’s Care Centre on Sunday, August 18, 2024 of Anne Donnelly (nee Bartley) Clonrollagh, Longford. Predeceased by her parents and by her sisters and brothers. Anne will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, husband Seamus, daughters Laura, Helen and Avril, sons Kevin and Gerry, daughter-in-law Allison, sons-in-law Enda De Renzy and Ger Lynch, sister-in-law, grandchildren Rachel, Ciara, Luke, Louisa, Jessie and Cillian, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Tuesday, August 20 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, August 21 at 11am in St. Mel’s Cathedral. Interment afterwards in Newtownforbes Cemetery.

Kathleen McGettrick New York City, U.S.A. and Co Longford

The death occurred on Saturday, July 20, 2024 of Kathleen McGettrick, New York City, U.S.A. and Co Longford.  She lived almost her entire life in New York City but wanted her remains interred next to her mother’s grave in Carra, Granard, Co. Longford. Kathleen was a very intelligent and witty individual and an Honors Graduate of Fordham University. During her career at Brooks Brothers Clothiers she travelled extensively to various locations including China and Japan. Her mother Kathleen (née Sheridan), who hailed from Aughnagarron, Granard, was a nurse and her father, John was a New York City fireman. She will be missed by her cousins in Longford and New York and by her friends. May She Rest In Peace.

Kathhleen's Funeral Mass will take place in St. Mary's Church, Carra on Wednesday, August 21 at 1pm followed by interment of ashes in the adjoining cemetery.

Eamon Casey, Newtownbond, Mostrim, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 18, 2024 of Eamon Casey, Newtownbond, Mostrim, Co Longford.  Predeceased by his parents John and Mary, brother Patrick (Paddy) and by his sister Liz Edgeworth. Eamon will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, sister Ann Griffin, brothers Liam and Sean, sister-in-law Margaret, nieces Jennifer and Martina, nephews Diarmuid, John, Damian, Brendan, James and Terry, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Wednesday, August 21 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday, August 22 at 12 noon in St Oliver’s Church, Cullyfad, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery. House private please.

Judy (Julia) Moran (née Boyce), Newtown, Legan, Longford, N39 N403 / Ballynacargy, Westmeath

The death  occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving and caring family and in the wonderful care of the staff at Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Saturday, August 17, 2024 of Judy (Julia) Moran (nee Boyce), Newtown, Legan, Co Longford and formerly of Tristernagh, Ballynacargy, Co Westmeath.

Predeceased by her husband Pat, parents Jim and Maggie, sisters Sr. Barbara and infant sisters Alice and Ann, her twin brother Jim, brothers Mick and Joe and granddaughter Majella. Beloved wife of the late Pat and loving mother of Patrick, Margaret (Maggie), Joe, Gerard, Kevin and Declan. adored Nannie of her grandchildren and great grandchildren Barbra, Gerard, Conor, Kevin, Anna, Ian, Leanne, Zara, Laura, Wayne, Allanna, Clayton, Cora, Amelia, Callum, Ava, Maisie and Paudie, sadly missed by her son-law Anthony Melia, daughters-in-law Susan, Mary and Ita, sisters Doreen Nally and Mary Firith brother-in-law Jim, nieces, nephews, extended family and wonderful friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace.

Reposing at her home in Newtown, Legan (N39 N403) on Tuesday, August 20 from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 21 in St Mary's Church, Legan at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Rathaspic Cemetery.

Rosa Considine (née Dunphy), The Demesne , Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, August 16, 2024, of Rosa Considine (née Dunphy), The Demesne , Longford Town, Longford. Beloved mother of the late Dearbhla and Donal. Beloved wife of the late Sean.

Rosa will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughters Brid (Keenan), Mary (Conway) and Rosemary (Rowley), sons Brendan, Sean, Eamonn, Adrian and Ronan, sisters-in-law Maura, Alice, Nonie and Margaret, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, her 19 grandchildren, 7 great -grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. May she rest in peace.

Maureen Molloy, UK

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs Maureen Molloy, beloved wife of Mr Aidan Molloy. Maureen passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Greenwich, London, UK. 

She was the cherished daughter-in-law of the late Mr and Mrs Airlie, whose family were well known and respected Merchant Tailors in Longford town many decades ago. Maureen will be deeply missed by her loving husband Aidan, her extended family, and all who knew her. We kindly ask those who may have had any distant connection or relation to the Molloy or Airlie families to join us in remembering and celebrating her life.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at St Stephen's RC Church, Welling, Kent, England. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cancer Research UK. Maria McIntyre (née McKeon), Drumerkane, Aughavas, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Ballinamore Nursing Care Unit on Monday, August 19, 2024 of Maria McIntyre (nee McKeon) Drumerkane, Aughavas, Co Leitrim, in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husband Peter (Pee) her mother & father Alice & Michael, her step mother Anne, close family Cissie, Philip & James, her great grandson Everett. Deeply regretted and forever missed by her daughters; Mary, Anna B, Dolores, sons; Michael & Philip, grandchildren & great grandchildren, good friends & neighbours. May Maria's gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Smith's funeral home, High Street, Ballinamore on Tuesday August 20 from 5pm to 8pm. Removal from her home on Wednesday morning, August 21 to St Joseph's church Aughavas for 12 noon Funeral mass followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully at Mullingar Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 16, 2024 of Sean (John) O'Donoghue, Lough Rynn, Mohill, Co Leitrim/ Templeogue, Dublin. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Brigid and his brother Peter. Sean will be sadly missed by his family, wife Kathleen (Kay), daughter Catherine and her husband Ricky, sons Peter and David and their wife’s Jayne and Kaylene, grandchildren, Matilda, Oscar, Kegan, Adelaide, Fredi, Aiden and Niamh, brother Dermot and sisters Catherine and Mary, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The death occurred peacefully after a long illness bravely borne on Monday, August 5, 2024 of Peter Mahon, Luton, Bedfordshire and formerly Rosdwan, Mohill, Co Leitrim.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Christine (nee McCann, Quigleys Point, Co Donegal). Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving son Eamon, Eamon’s partner Sharon, his brother Michael (Mohill, Co Leitrim), sister Bridie (Prunty - Newtownforbes, Co Longford), sister-in-law Maura, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives, and his wide circle of friends. James Patrick (Jim) Gralton, Shancurry, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim / Ballyfarnon, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his devoted family and in the wonderful care of the staff at Luton Dunstable Hospital on Monday, July 22, 2024 of James Patrick (Jim) Gralton, Woodmere, Luton UK and Shancurry, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim. 

Beloved husband of the late Margaret Rose and brother of the late Mary Bridget. Deeply regretted by his daughters Louise and Sarah, sons James and Paul, daughters-in-law Rene and Lorna, sisters Chris, Rita and Connie, grandchildren Alex, James, and Mir, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours. “May Jim’s gentle soul rest in eternal peace”.

Reposing at Shivnan’s Funeral Home, Ballyfarnon, on Friday evening, August 23, 2024 from 5.30pm until 7.15pm followed by removal to St Patrick's Church, Drumshanbo, to arrive at 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 24 at 11am. Interment afterwards in Kiltoghert Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Irish Cancer Society.

Theresa McWeeney (née Lee), Cortober, Carrick-on-Shannon, Roscommon / Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim

The death occurred suddenly at Sligo University Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 17, 2024 of Theresa McWeeney (nee Lee) "Fairlawn", Cortober Carrick on Shannon Co Roscommon.

Predeceased by her parents Pat and Mary Lee. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving husband Padraig, sons Enda and Colm, daughters Dearbhla (Noone) and Aoife (Heffernan), sisters Anna McGee (Mohill) and Maisie Fee (Drumshanbo), daughters-in-law Helen and Yasmin, sons in-law Paul and Will, sisters-in-law Monica (Archie) Mahon, Mairead (Tom) Brady, adored by her ten loving grandchildren, Tara, Roisin, Grace, Aimee, Ronan, Cathal, Eve, Fionn, Zayna and Daire. Nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.

Rose Reilly (née Prior), Drumlargan, Summerhill, Meath, A83 YN25 / Ballinamore, Co Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, following a short illness bravely borne, surrounded by her loving family, in the care of the wonderful staff at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown on Saturday, August 17, 2024 of Rose Reilly (nee Prior) Drumlargan, Summerhill, Meath, A83 YN25 and formerly of Aughawillan, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim. 

Rose, predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick and daughter-in-law Donna. Sadly missed by her loving family Kathleen, Bridie, Jim, Peter and Patsy, son-in-law Derek, daughter-in-law Marie, grandchildren Stacey, Shane, Patrick, Jamie, Mark, Kate and Conor, great-grandchildren Tyler and Abbie, brother Patsy, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she Rest in Peace.

Reposing at her home in Drumlargan (A83 YN25) on Tuesday, August 20 from 4pm to 8pm. Removal on Wednesday, August 21 at 11.30am to the Church of the Assumption Coole, Summerhill (W23 WAC8) arriving for funeral Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. House private on Wednesday morning, August 21 please.
