The death occurred peacefully, at his home on Friday, June 7, 2024 of James (Jimmy) Kenny, Carn, Carrickboy, Longford. Sadly missed by his loving wife Ethnea, his son Ciarán and his daughters Carmel, Iona, Tina, Nathalie and Denise, his grandchildren Nicole, Heather, Shane, David, Marc, Billy, Darragh and James, his brothers and sisters, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, extended family, neighbours and his many friends. Rest in peace.

Reposing in Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home Chapel, Edgeworthstown, on Sunday, June 9 from 5pm with Prayers at 7pm. Removal on Monday, June 10 to St Mary's Church, Legan, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Ardagh Cemetery. House private please. 

Francis Connell, Dublin / formerly Rinroe, Granard, Co Longford

The death occurred suddenly in St James's Hospital, Dublin on Sunday, June 2, 2024 of Francis Connell, Dublin and formerly Rinroe, Granard, Co Longford. Predeceased by his parents Mary & Christy, brothers Christo and Pat and sister-in-law Ann. Francis will be sadly missed by his family, brothers Mattie (Mary), Tommy (Eileen), Kevin (Kathleen) and Noel (Ita), nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, neighbours and his dear friends Ann, Frank, Ruth and his work colleagues in Dublin. A silent thought, a quiet prayer; for a special person in God’s care. Rest in Peace Francis.

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford N39 KN66 on Saturday, June 8 from 12 noon to 1.30pm followed with removal to St Mary's Church, Granard for Funeral Mass at 3pm, interment afterwards in Granardkill Old Cemetery.

Nicusoara Canuta, 34 Ardnacassa Avenue, Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred in Mullingar Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 6, 2024 of Nicusoara Canuta, 34 Ardnacassa Avenue, Longford Town, Longford. Nicusoara will be sadly missed by her son Marius, daughter-in-law Lucia, grandchild Andreea, brother Ion, neighbours and her dear friends. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace.

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church St., Longford, N39 KN66 on Saturday, June 8 from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral Service will take place on Sunday, June 9 at 4pm in Connell's Funeral Home followed with burial in Ballymacormack Cemetery.

Sr Maura Fay, Westmeath / Longford

The death occurred unexpectedly but peacefully at Dún Mhuire on Thursday, June 6, 2024 of Sr. Maura Fay, Dún Mhuire, Lyster Street, Athlone, Co Westmeath and formerly Convent of Mercy, Ballymahon, Co Longford, and Collinstown, Co Westmeath. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Frances, and brothers Michael and Fr. Sean. Deeply regretted by her sister Olive Carey (Killucan), her nieces and nephews Michael Fay, Sean Fay, Maura Galvin, David Carey, Deirdre Tiernan and Linda Carey, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, friends, and the Sisters of Mercy Western Province. Sr Maura will repose this Saturday, June 8 in St Matthew's Church, Ballymahon, from 5.30pm with prayers at 7.30pm. Mass of the Resurrection is Sunday, June 9 at 11.30am. The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the nurses and staff of the Regional Hospital Mullingar, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 of Anthony  Finnan, 60 College Park, Longford town. He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, wife Kathleen, sons Seamus, Paul and John, daughters-in-law Teresa, Anne and Valerie, Rosario Roberts, grandchildren Sean, Ciara, Kevin, Shane, Cian and Niamh, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. The death occurred peacefully in the care of the wonderful staff in Anovacare on Thursday, June 6, 2024 of  Patrick (Paddy) Patridge, Coolock, Dublin and formerly of Ardagh, Co Longford. Beloved husband of Margaret and loving father of Maria, Christina, Patricia, Brian, Carol, Catherine, Nicola, Patrick and Gary. Zara Fatima Yasir, 6 Templemichael Terrace, Longford Town, Longford

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter Zara Fatima Yasir, who peacefully departed from this world in her home on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. 

Zara will be loving remembered by her heartbroken family, father Raja and mother Roberta, adored sister of Alishba, Filza and Ema, granddad John Gerard Bailey, uncle and aunts Rajaimran, Zain-Ul- Abidin and Naveed, cousins, neighbours and dear friends. Prayers were on Thursday, June 6 at 7pm in the Longford Islamic Centre, 13 Strokestown Rd, Townparks. Following prayers, Zara was laid to rest in Aughafin Cemetery, Edgeworthstown at approximately 8pm.

The sudden death occurred peacefully surrounded by his family and friends in the tender care of the staff of critical care department University College Hospital,Galway on Saturday, June 1, 2024 of Liam Dowling, Grattan Road, Galway city and formerly of Cappagh, Strokestown, Co. Roscommon. Beloved husband to Anne (née Callaghan). Amazing one of a kind father to Emily and Brian. Predeceased by his infant daughter Niamh, parents John and Emily and sister Emily. He will be very sadly missed by his loving wife and children, brothers and sisters Kay, Frank, Pat, Mary and Stan. Sadly missed also by his heartbroken brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, niece, relatives, neighbours and especially by his dear friends.
