Pauline Clyne (née Garry) 19 Slí na Mona, Ballymahon, Co Longford / Delvin, Co Westmeath

The death occurred peacefully in Mullingar Regional Hospital on Friday, March 17, 2024 of Pauline Clyne (nee Garry) 19 Sli na Mona, Ballymahon, Co Longford and formerly Delvin, Co Westmeath. Predeceased by her husband Michael, her parents Bridie and Eugene and her brother Patsy. Deeply regretted by her heartbroken family, her daughters and son, Martina, Sandra and Gary, their partners Donna and Ray, her beloved grandchildren Amy, Kaleigh, Emma, Callum, Isabella, Conor, Aaron and Ruth, her brother Brendan, her sister-in-law Eileen (Wexford), nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, neighbours and her many wonderful carers who looked after her so well over the years, Joan, Eileen, Rose, Margaret, Maura, Paula, Dawn, Kay, Liz and Doreen. May she Rest in Peace.

Reposing in St Matthews Church this Sunday afternoon, May 19 from 4pm until 6pm, followed by prayers at 6pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, May 20 at 11am with burial afterwards in Carrickedmond Cemetery. House private please.

John (Johnny) Horohoe Salmon's Lane, Ballyleague, Roscommon / Longford

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 of John (Johnny) Horohoe, Salmon's Lane, Ballyleague, Roscommon/ Longford. Predeceased by his infant son John, parents John and Josie, brothers Jimmy and Patsy and by his sisters Kathleen and Bridgie. Johnny will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, loving wife Maureen, daughters Maura Duffy (Lanesboro), Breda Maguire (Lanesboro), Síle McGroary (New York), sons Ciaran (London) and Noel (Ballyleague), sons-in-law Johnny, Ollie and Dennis, daughter-in-law Orla, Ciaran’s partner Marion, sister Tessie Fallon (Tarmonbarry), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Friday, May 17 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Ballyleague at 3pm on Saturday, May 18 interment afterwards in Cloontuskert Cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and in the care of the wonderful staff of The Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 of Pascal Etienne 22 Sliabh Cairbe, Drumlish, Co Longford. Predeceased by his parents Marthe and Jacky. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Joan, children, Jason and Rebecca, grandchildren Noah and Jackson, brother Patrick, sister Isabelle, nieces, nephews, relatives, good friends and neighbours. May He Rest In Peace.

Reposing at Kelly's Funeral Home, Athlone Road, Longford (N39 K381) this Thursday, May 16 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Friday, May 17 from Kelly’s Funeral Home to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan (H12 RF78) for Cremation service at 3pm. The cremation service is available to view live HEREFamily flowers only please, donations, if desired to Mullingar General Hospital, patient comfort fund, care of Dillon & Shepherd Funeral Directors or any family member. The death occurred peacefully, in the care of the wonderful staff of the Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 of John (Johnny) Hagan, Rhyne, Killoe, Co Longford, former Postmaster Killoe Post Office. Predeceased by his parents Patrick & Mary Kate, sisters Mary Dunleavy, Nelly Morrissey, Margaret Fortune and Kate Hagan and brother Peter Hagan. Deeply regretted by his brother Fr. Paddy Hagan, (St Patrick's Missionary Society, Kiltegan), nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, good friends and neighbours. May He Rest In Peace.

Removal on Thursday, May 16 arriving at St Oliver's Church, Cullyfad, Killoe, Co. Longford (N39 CD39), arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass at 12 noon on Friday, May 17, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. 

Patrick Finnegan, Cloonagh, Dring, Longford / Dublin

The death occurred  peacefully after a long illness on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 of Patrick Finnegan,  Dublin and Cloonagh, Dring, Co. Longford. Beloved husband of Emily (nee Barrett). Deeply regretted by his loving wife, sister Moira, brothers Martin and Dominic (D.P), brothers in law, sisters in law relatives and friends. May Patrick rest in peace.

Funeral Mass at 12 noon in St Columba's Church, Mullinalaghta on Friday, May 17. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery. Fr James Leavy, Main Street, Lanesboro, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in Harrogate, United Kingdom where he had served as parish priest and hospital chaplain, on Sunday, April 28, 2024 of Fr James Leavy formerly of Lanesboro Co Longford. Predeceased by his parents JP and Brigid, and sister Anne Matthews. Fr James will be greatly missed and remembered with love by his brothers Larry, Pat and Eddie, sisters Mary McGowan (New Jersey) and Breda O'Loughlin (Kilkenny), brother in law, sister in law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, by the Bishop and priests of the Diocese of Leeds, his many devoted parishioners, and wide circle of friends. May he rest in peace.

Arriving to St Mary's Church Lanesboro at 7pm on Sunday, May 19. Funeral Mass at 12 noon on Monday, May 20. Burial afterwards in Lanesboro Cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed HERE.  

    Manohar Lal Varma, 89 College Park, Longford Town, Longford

    The death occurred peacefully, in the loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff in Medical 1 at the Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 of Manohar Lal Varma 89 College Park, Longford town. Predeceased by his dearly beloved wife Santosh. Sadly missed by his loving sons Rajiv and Ashish, daughters-in-law Julie and Ger, adored grandson David, extended Varma and Kohli families, relatives and neighbours throughout Ireland, the UK and India. Rest in peace.

    Reposing in Glennon's Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road, Longford, on Thursday, May 16 from 5pm until 6pm. Cremation will take place at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan, on Friday, May 17 at 1pm. House private.

    Leo Gormley, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford

    The death occurred peacefully after a short illness on Thursday, May 2, 2024 of Leo Gormley, Thames, New Zealand, and Aughnacliffe, Co. Longford. Predeceased by his parents Bridget and Matt, and siblings Kathleen, Anna, Mattie, Noel and Sean. Much loved, Leo will be sadly missed by his wife Cathy, children Ivan, Bridget and Angela, grandsons Malachy, Blake, Sam and Liam, brother Fintan, sister Emer, extended family, relatives and friends.

    Leo has been laid to rest in his home town, Thames, New Zealand. May he Rest in Peace.

    Dr Tony Fitzpatrick, Glasson, Westmeath

    The death occurred peacefully at the Beacon Hospital on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 of Dr Tony Fitzpatrick, Glasson, Athlone and late of Walkinstown, Dublin. Beloved husband of Louise and the late Anne. Adored father of Michael, Grace and Elizabeth. He will be sadly missed by his family, his parents John and Frances, his sister Clare, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Rest in Peace.

    Reposing on Saturday afternoon, May 18 at Funeral Home, Dundrum between 3pm and 5pm. Complimentary car parking is available at the old Dundrum Shopping Centre (Lidl) carpark - entrance on Dundrum village main street. (Not Dundrum Town Centre carpark). Tickets to exitcarpark free-of-charge are available on request at the funeral home. A Funeral Service to celebrate Tony’s life will take place in Newlands Cross Crematorium on Monday afternoon, May 20 at 2.30 pm. No flowers please.     John (Sean) Gilchrest, Rushport, Kilmore, Roscommon, N41 E207

    The death occurred peacefully, in his ninety-ninth year, in the loving care of the staff at Drumderrig Nursing Home, Boyle on Thursday, May 16, 2024 of John (Sean) Gilchrest Rushport, Kilmore, Carrick on Shannon, Co. Roscommon. 13th May 1926 – 16th May 2024. Predeceased by his parents William and Bridget, brother Liam and sister Margaret Finnegan. He will be sadly missed by his loving sister Anna Smith (Killashee), nieces and nephews, Ann, John, Liam, Jim, Jerry, William and Suzanne, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

    May Sean’s soul rest in eternal peace.

    Reposing at the home of his niece Ann McMahon, Rushport, Kilmore N41 E207 on Friday, May 17 from 5pm to 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning, May 18 to St. Brigid’s Church, Dangan arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon.     The death occurred peacefully at home in London on Monday, April 15, 2024 of Desmond Joseph Foy, London and formerly of Cloone, Co Leitrim. Beloved husband of Roisin, loving dad of Carolyn and Andrew, Grandad to Stanley and Albert, sister Marion Fallon, sister in law Mary Foy and all his brothers in law and sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed. May he rest in peace.

      The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by family, after a long illness bravely borne on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 of Sean Maguire, Ruislip, Middlesex and formerly of Mullaghmore, Drumreilly, Co Leitrim. Sadly missed by his son, Richard (Roz) and daughter, Sinead (David) and his grandchildren, Darcey, Ethan and Cayden. Beloved son of the late Sue and Paddy, Mullaghmore and cherished brother of Hugh (Mary), Mick (Rose), Geri (David), Susan (John), Anna Rose (Eugene), Robert and Paul. Deeply regretted by his nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives and his wide circle of friends. Predeceased by her husband Frank, son Timothy and sister Margaret Boyce. Sadly missed by her sons Nicholas, Jonathan and Simon, her brother James Devine, Mullingar and her sister Anne Donohoe, Creevey, Granard, her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
