Paudge Murphy, Annaly Park, Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2023 of Paudge Murphy, Annaly Park, Longford town.
Predeceased by his parents Michael and Annie, dear infant son Patrick, darling daughter Madeline and by his beloved wife Nellie. Paudge will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, daughters Mary Devlin and Jenny, sons Ray and John, daughters-in-law Siobhán and Leanne, sons-in-law Declan and Seanie, sister Mary McCormack, brother Micheál, grandchildren Nathan, Darragh, Leah, Amy, Caoiláinn, Ryan, Ben and Ellie, great-grand daughter Ava, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Wednesday, December 20 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday, December 21 at 11am in St. Mel’s Cathedral, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery. The funeral mass will be streamed live please view here

James (Jim) Marsden, Dunshaughlin, Meath / Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred peacefully in the compassionate and professional care of all the staff of Redwood Ward, Connolly Hospital and in the presence of his loving children on Monday, December 18, 2023 of James (Jim) Marsden, Dunshaughlin, Co Meath and formerly of Longford Town and Mohill, Co Leitrim. Jim will be sadly missed by his sons John, Finbarr, Donal and daughters Mary and Eilish, his brothers Hugh and Noel, sisters Maeve, Joan, Finola and Regine, eleven grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, friends, relatives and neighbours. Predeceased by his beloved wife Kay and brothers Pat and Aidan. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
Reposing at McEntaggart’s funeral home, Dunshaughlin (A85 DE70) from 4pm until 6.30pm on Wednesday, December 20. Removal at 6.30pm arriving at St Patrick and Seachnall’s Church, Dunshaughlin, at 7pm. A Mass of thanksgiving for Jim will be celebrated on Thursday, December 21 at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Vanda Maher, Cloontuskert, Lanesboro, Roscommon / Crumlin, Dublin


The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 of Vanda Maher, Cloontuskert, Lanesboro, Roscommon and formerly of Birmingham, England and Stanaway Avenue, Crumlin, Dublin.  Predeceased by her parents Liam and Sandra, brother John and grandmother Vanda Remes. Deeply regretted by her loving son Marc and his partner Caroline, daughter Vanda and her partner Ross, adoring grandchildren Julian and John, brothers, sisters, extended family and friends in Ireland and England. May She Rest In Peace.
Reposing at Maher's Chapel of Rest, Portarlington (Eircode R32 X5XV) on Thursday evening, December 21 from 6:30pm with Prayers at 8pm. Cremation Service in the Garden Chapel Mount Jerome Crematorium on Friday morning, December 22 at 11:15am. Thomas (Tom) Dolan, The Pines, Creagh, Ballinasloe, Galway / Strokestown, Roscommon


The death occurred peacefully in the Galway Hospice on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 of Thomas (Tom) Dolan, The Pines, Creagh, Ballinasloe, Galway and formerly of Strokestown, Co Roscommon. Predeceased by his father Luke, mother Peggy (Strokestown) and brother Pat (Canada). Loving husband of heartbroken Catherine (Cathy) and proud father of Niall and Karina. Deeply missed by daughter in law Eilish, son in law Conor, adoring grandchildren Conor, Cliona, Kevin, Ryan, Kate and Killian. Sadly missed by his brothers and sisters John Joe (Strokestown), Bernie (Carrowbehy), Madeline (Roscommon), Gerard (Roscommon), Michael (England) and wider family, neighbours and friends. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Reposing at the family home. House private. Mass of the Resurrection in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Creagh on Friday, December 22 at 12 noon followed by burial in Creagh Cemetery. The family would like to thank you for your understanding and support at this sad time.

Edward Treacy, Killiney, Dublin / Tinahely, Wicklow / Annaduff, Leitrim


The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 of Edward Treacy Killiney, Dublin, Tinahely, Wicklow and latterly Gortinty, Carrick on Shannon, Co Leitrim (Ex Independent newspapers). 
Beloved husband of the late Imelda, and dear father to Rob and Louise, sadly missed by his son and daughter, grandchildren Glen, Lauren and Eve, son in law T. J., Rob’s partner Avril and her son and daughter Eoghan and Eirica, relatives, neighbours, and friends. May Edward Rest in Peace. Edward will repose at Avril’s home in Gortinty, Carrick on Shannon on Wednesday, December 20 from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, December 21 at 11.30 in Our Lady of Good Counsel, Church, Johnstown, Killiney, Dublin (A66EY91) followed by burial in Deans Grange cemetery.
