Teresa Cassells (née Sloane), 5 Goldsmith Road, Ballymahon, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, surrounded by her family and the loving staff of Thomond Lodge on Friday, September 29, 2023 of Teresa Cassells (née Sloane), 5 Goldsmith Road, Ballymahon, Longford. Predeceased by her husband Paul, parents Tommy and Mary, siblings Liz (Hughes), Frank, TJ and Pat. Teresa will be dearly missed by her sons Stephen and Paul, daughters-in-law Caroline and Giccelle, grandchildren Cayden, Zac, Noah, and Isabella, sister Anne, brother Jack, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at her son Stephen's house (Cloncullen, Ballymahon, N39 F4A9) this Sunday, October 1, from 3pm to 6pm. A one-way traffic system will be in place and people are asked to enter via the Ballymore road. Funeral Mass is Monday, October 2 at 11am in St Matthew's Church, Ballymahon. The death occurred on Friday, September 29, 2023 of Noel Skelly, Knappogue, Clondra, Longford. Predeceased by his parents and by his brother. Sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, beloved wife Annie, daughters Anne, Mary (Donlon), Margaret (Clancy), Catherine (Follin) and Frances (McDonnell), son Pat, sister Nancy (Whitecombe), sons-in-law, grandchildren, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, good neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81), on Monday evening, October 2 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Tuesday, October 3 at 12 noon in St. Brendan’s Church, Clondra, interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private please.

Maisie Flaherty (née Muldoon) Teffia Park , Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 29, 2023 of Maisie Flaherty (nee Muldoon) Teffia Park, Longford town. Predeceased by her parents, by her husband Seamus, son David, sisters and by her son-in-law Ray. Maisie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, son Seamus, daughters Paula, Geraldine, Mary and Tracey, daughter-in-law Siobhan, sons-in-law Adrian Kelly and Adrian Deely, brother Oliver, grandchildren Shane, Lee, Tracey, Lindsey, Megan, Laura, Jasmine, Lauren, Chloe, Cian and Jessica, great-grandchildren Daniel, Kaylee, Charlie, Jayden, M.J., Reya, Hollie and Alfie, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.​​​​​​​ May she rest in peace.

The recent death has occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Our Lady’s Manor Nursing Home, Edgeworthstown on Thursday, September 28, 2023 of Anna Devine (nee McGuinness) Derryharrow, Longford.
Predeceased by her parents, by her beloved husband Frank, sister Brigid, brother Micheál, son-in-law John and by her grandchildren Sarah and Mona. Anna will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughters Mary Fayne, Anne Sexton, Una and Nora, sons Kevin and Jim, daughters-in-law Gabrielle and Fiona, sons-in-law Philip, Nigel and Saied, sisters Alice, Sarah and Josie, brothers John, Tom, James and Benny, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Philip Miney, Kiltrasna, Corlismore, Ballinagh, Co Cavan


The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital on Friday, September 29, 2023 of Philip Miney (Phil), Kiltrasna, Corlismore, Ballinagh, Co Cavan. Predeceased by his parents Philip and Maria, his sister Kathleen Miney and brother-in-law Nathy Cawley. Deeply regretted by his brothers John Joe, Cathal and Packie, sisters Mary and Teresa, sister-in-law Mary, brother-in-law Gerry and all his nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins and extended family along with his many friends and neighbours who were very good to him in his recent years.
Philip will repose at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Rd Cavan (H12 RF78) from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Saturday, September 30. His funeral mass will take place Sunday October 1 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Coronea, Arva, Co. Cavan (H12 HN53) at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Joe Nangle, Fortlauderdale, Florida, U.S.A / Battlebridge, Leitrim Village, Co Leitrim


The death occurred suddenly at his home in Florida on Thursday, September 28, 2023 of Joe Nangle, Fortlauderdale, Florida, U.S.A and formerly Battlebridge, Leitrim Village, Co. Leitrim. Predeceased by his parents Sean and Tessie, sister Mary and brother Edmond. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving sisters Teresa Lonney (Drumkeelan, Drumshanbo), Stella Scollan (Dublin), Patricia Keane (Battlebridge), brothers Michael (Leitrim Village), Brendan and Ciaran (Dublin), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, Joe’s good friend Christina, relatives, neighbours and his many friends in Florida and Leitrim. The death occurred peacefully at Sligo University Hospital in the care of Doctors, Nurses and Staff on Thursday, September 28, 2023 of Bertie (Albert) Hutchings, Drumgorman, Leitrim, and late of Drumcondra, Dublin. Predeceased by his loving son Alan, parents Jack and Madge. Sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife Kathleen, son Derek, daughters Karen, Pam, Les and Lorraine. Sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, sisters and brothers-in-law, grandchildren and great Grandchildren, relatives and friends. May he rest in eternal peace.

The death occurred peacefully, after a short illness, in the tender care of the nursing and medical staff of the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Friday, September 29, 2023 of Agnes Fagan (née Heduvan), Bratty Road, Castlepollard, Westmeath.  Predeceased by her husband Matt, her father John, mother Bridget, sister Mary (Crinnegan) and brothers Pat and Kevin. Sadly missed by her brothers Joe, John, Kit and Vincent, sisters-in-law Marjorie and Breda, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends. Reposing at the Mullingar Hospital Mortuary, Castlepollard Road, Mullingar, on Sunday, October 1 from 4pm to 6.30pm, followed by removal to St Michael's Church, Castlepollard, via Whitehall, arriving at 7pm. The death occurred in the wonderful care of all the staff at Newtownpark House surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 of Liam Connellan, Foxrock, Dublin 18 and formerly of Strokestown, Co Roscommon. Liam, dearly loved husband of the late Marie, father of Rachel, Paul, Brendan, Liam and David; eldest brother of Rita, Seamus, Dermot, Mary and the late John; sadly missed by his children, brothers and sisters, Rachel’s partner Maurice, daughters-in-law Beth, Alexia, Triona and Christiane, his grandchildren Laura, Sophia, Catherine, Sabiha, Anna, Liam and Cashel and by a wide circle of relatives and friends.

Brinsley Matthews, Crover, Lough Sheelin, Mountnugent, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at his home in Florida on Monday, September 4 of Brinsley P Matthews, Crover, Lough Sheelin, Cavan and Palm Beach, Florida. Brinsley (Paul) son of the late Vincent and Anita Matthews, Crover. Sadly missed by his sister Linda and his brothers Maurice, Ronan, Vincent, Alan, Denis and Damien. Rest In Peace.
