Ciara McKenna 12 Ardan Alainn, Farnagh Hill, Longford Town, Longford


It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of our beloved daughter and sister Ciara McKenna, in her home on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Predeceased by her aunt Deirdre, her grandparents Finbar and Nancy / Patrick and Mary-Jo. Ciara will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family, parents Fiona and Seamus, sister Anna, brothers Andrew and Mark, aunts and uncles, her darling niece Caitlin, cousins neighbours and her many good friends. No farewell words were spoken, No time to say goodbye, You were gone before we knew it, And only God knows why. May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.
Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford N39 KN66, on Wednesday, September 13 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Funeral cortege will leave her home on Thursday, September 14 to arrive at St Mel's Cathedral, Longford, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral will be streamed live CLICK HERE Following mass Ciara will be laid to rest in the family plot in Ballymacormack Cemetery. Ciara's family would like everyone attending her funeral to wear bright colours as she was a bright and bubbly girl. Family Home Private Please.

Winnie Nevin, 44 Farnagh, Longford Town, Longford
The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of St Joseph's Hospital, Longford on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 of Winnie Nevin, 44 Farnagh, Longford town.
Predeceased by her husband Martin, grandchild David Stokes, brothers Hughie and John, sisters Nanny, Mary, Alice and Dolly. Winnie will be sadly missed by her sons John, Paddy, Martin, Hughie and Michael, daughters Mary and Winnie, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sister-in-law, her adored 46 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts. Rest in peace Winnie.
Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford, on Tuesday, September 12 from 3pm arriving at St Mel's Cathedral, for prayers at 6pm. Funeral mass on Wednesday, September 13 at 11am, followed with burial in Ballymacormack Cemetery. Funeral will be streamed live CLICK HERE

James William (Bill) Bolton, Main Street, Rooskey, Leitrim / Rooskey, Roscommon


The death occurred at Sligo University Hospital on Thursday, September 7, 2023 of James William Bolton (known to all as Bill), Main Street, Rooskey, Leitrim. Sadly missed by his family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Bill’s funeral cortege will travel via his residence on Tuesday, September 12 to arrive at Lakelands crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan for cremation service at 1.30pm. (Time at residence 12.30pm). Service can be viewed on churchservices.tv/lakelands

Celine Monaghan (née Bannon) Boley, Bawnboy, Cavan
The death occurred peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital after a long illness, bravely borne on Sunday, September 10, 2023 of Celine Monaghan (nee Bannon) Boley, Bawnboy, Cavan. She will be sadly missed by her husband Pat and all in the family circle.
Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim, N41 TD62 on Monday evening, September 11 from 5pm until 7pm. Removal arriving at St Mogue’s Church, Bawnboy on Tuesday morning, September 12 for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. No Flowers Please. House Private. At the family’s request, there will be no sympathising in St Mogues’ Church on Tuesday, September 12. Please sign the Book of Condolence instead.

Patrick (Pat) Scully, Cloonmorris, Bornacoola, Leitrim / Longford


The death occurred peacefully at St James Hospital, Leeds in the presence of his family on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 of Patrick (Pat) Scully Morley, Leeds, UK, formerly Cloonmorris, Bornacoola, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his brothers John and Thomas (Sonny) and his sister Eileen (O’Reilly, Abbeylara, Longford). Deeply missed by his beloved wife Anne (nee Brett, Kilkelly, Mayo), sons Vincent, John, Adrian and Malcolm, daughters-in-law Claire, Julie and Natalie, grandchildren Heather, Amelia & Eleanor, sister Maeve (Leahy USA), his nephews, nieces, neighbours and many friends. May Pat Rest in Peace.
Patrick’s Funeral Mass and Interment will take place in Morley on Wednesday, September 13.
