Longford Panto ‘Billy and The Beanstalk’ at St Mel’s College
Panto performances and times are December 19 - 23 at 6.30pm; December 27 - 30 at 6.30pm; December 31 at 1.30pm; January 2 at 1.30pm & 6.30pm; January 3 & 4 at 6.30pm; January 6 at 6.30pm & January 7 at 1.30pm

Friday, December 23
7.30pm: Carol Service in Ballycloghan Church

Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25
11am / 12 noon: Longford MS Christmas Day Run/Walk. Walkers start at 11am and runners start at 12pm from The Hill, Newtowncashel.Refreshments for participants and their families in St Mary’s Hall in Lanesboro after the race

12 noon: GOAL Mile starting from Connolly Barracks, Longford town. Route is one mile round the streets of Longford. Members of the Ukrainian local community will be joining and supporting the Longford GOAL mile.

St Stephen’s Day, Monday, December 26
11am: Mullinalaghta St Columba’s GFC fundraising walk in Derrycassin Woods. All proceeds will go to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Fund

12 noon: Longford St Stephen’s Day 5k. Cash prizes for first three male / female and age category prizes. Registration and number collection from Longford Athletics Centre, St Mel’s College N39 XP92. All proceeds towards continued development of Longford AC indoor centre

1.30pm: Dromard Area Men's Shed Charity Walk / Jog starting from The Latin School. All proceeds to St Christopher's Services Longford

Tuesday, December 27
10am: Longford’s Finest Truck and Tractor Run. Registration starts from 10am at Mastertech Park, Athlone Rd, Longford N39 K535. €20 per Truck/Tractor. Tractor and Truck competitions start at 10.30am. €500 prize for most professional truck and €500 for most professional Tractor driver. Tractors leave Mastertech Park at 2.30pm to finish in Ballinalee. Trucks leave at 3pm and finish at Bunlahy. Music by Declan Nerney followed by live music at Creegans, Bunlahy by The Midlanders and Nite Fever. All proceeds go to Cavan Dialysis Patient Comfort Fund and Suicide Awareness (SOSAD)

Wednesday, December 28
6pm: Fairy Light Tractor Run in Streete Parish Park

9pm: Dromard GAA host a presentation night in the Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva, as well as 50th Commemoration of the 1970 junior team (delayed due to Covid-19)

Thursday, December 29
8pm: Mullinalaghta Ladies’ Football Club presentation dance in The Piker’s Lodge,
Gowna. Medals for the 2020 and 2022 Junior Championship winning teams will be presented by Aisling Cosgrove, captain of All-Ireland club championsLongford Slashers

8pm: Foster & Allen bring their ‘We’ll Meet Again Irish Tour’ to The Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule

New Year’s Eve, Saturday, December 31
1pm: Ardagh Challenge. Register at MyRunResults.com. Registration also from 11am hosted by Ardagh Moydow Glen Community Games
