The almost empty bread shelves at Lidl, Longford on Saturday, March 3 at 4.30pm. Photo by John Regan
The frenzied and frantic shopping of Longford folk ahead of the Storm Emma Status Red Weather Alert lock down showed little sign of abating today as the majority of stores re-opened.
#armabreadon fever gripped the country in the 48 hours prior to Storm Emma getting her claws into the country and it resulted in very busy times for Pat the Baker in Granard and Cully's Craft Bakery in Arva as they had to upping production to meet demand.
As this photograph, by John Regan, taken earlier today (Saturday, March 3, at around 4.30pm) in Lidl Longford, goes to show that our love for bread and #armabreadon is showing no sign of abating!!!!!
