Longford swimmer Darragh Greene has received a major boost as he bids to become an Olympian for the third time and represent Ireland at the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028.

Darragh was recently unveiled as one of EHL Experiences’ official brand ambassadors.

EHL Experiences was co-founded by Longford businessman Padraic O’Kane and EHL’s unique brands include SOLE Seafood & Grill, FIRE Steakhouse & Bar, The Round Room at The Mansion House and SAINT Studios.

Known for his dedication and determination, Darragh has represented Ireland on the world stage and continues to inspire the next generation of Irish athletes.

Recognising both Darragh’s sporting achievements and the financial and logistical challenges faced by elite athletes, Padraic has committed to sponsoring and supporting Darragh over the coming years.

The partnership will help ensure Darragh has access to the resources he needs including training camps, nutrition, team management, and travel as he pursues his Olympic dream.

Padraic outlined, “It’s vital for Irish businesses to get behind our local heroes — especially our Olympians who proudly represent Ireland on the world stage. Supporting athletes like Darragh isn’t just about their performance in the pool; it’s about helping them build a future beyond sport.”

Padraic said EHL Experiences are ‘committed to supporting Darragh throughout his journey to LA 2028 and into his professional life after swimming’.

He added, “I’d encourage other Irish businesses to identify and support similar athletes in their own communities — investing in their potential both during and after their sporting careers.’’

Beyond sponsorship, Padraic and the EHL Experiences team have also created professional development opportunities for Darragh.

Since joining the EHL Experiences team Darragh has worked with the Aer Lingus College Football Classic Team throughout August and joined SAINT Studios in September before heading to his training camp in Australia in October.

These experiences and the mentorship provided by Padraic offer Darragh an opportunity to explore the world of corporate hospitality, events, and luxury brands within the EHL portfolio with an aim to expose him to different industries and identify a career path for Darragh once he retires, helping him build a foundation for his post-athletic career.

“I’m really grateful to Padraic and EHL Experiences for believing in me,” said Darragh.

He continued, “This support makes a huge difference  not only for my training and preparation but also for my future beyond swimming.”

With his sights firmly set on LA 2028, Darragh’s partnership with EHL Experiences represents the perfect blend of sporting excellence and professional growth, embodying EHL’s commitment to inspiring experiences both inside and outside the sporting arena.
