Popular pub chain JD Wetherspoons pull out of three locations around the country

UK pub giant JD Wetherspoons has put three of its locations around Ireland on the market for a collective €10 million.

JD Wetherspoons has been operating in Ireland for the last 10 years with twelve locations all over the country and is a very popular spot for patrons with its easy on the wallet drinks and food selections.

The Linen Weaver in Cork and The Tullow Gate in Carlow and An Geata Arundel in Waterford are on sale in what is described as "a rare opportunity to acquire an exceptional collection of landmark licensed properties".

The joint price for the portfolio is €10 million but individual prices are available from the joint selling agents, CBRE and Savills.

John Hughes of CBRE said:

"The trading properties in Cork, Waterford and Carlow are presented in excellent condition offering a rare opportunity to acquire the business individually or as a portfolio. The property in Galway city centre presents a unique opportunity to develop a landmark licensed premises or alternative uses, i the heart of the city."

Stephen McCarthy of Savills said: 

"The Wetherspoon Portfolio offers a rare opportunity to acquire an exceptional collection of landmark licensed properties in some of the most coveted locations in the country. Accordingly, we anticipate the portfolio will appeal to a broad cross-section of hospitality groupsseeking to scale their existing operation and benefit from the extensive investment which has already been committed to these assets."

Dublin will now be the only county to have a Wetherspoons pub with 5 locations across the capital.
