Social Enterprise Award

Ireland West Airport Knock emerged victorious from the Connacht provincial final of the Ulster Bank Business Achivers Awards. The Mayo-based company, which has been in operation for 27 years, was presented with the Social Enterprise Award at a ceremony that took place in The Clayton Hotel on April 9, last.

Ireland West Airport Knock emerged victorious from the Connacht provincial final of the Ulster Bank Business Achivers Awards. The Mayo-based company, which has been in operation for 27 years, was presented with the Social Enterprise Award at a ceremony that took place in The Clayton Hotel on April 9, last.

Ireland West Airport Knock is the fastest-growing airport in Ireland and contributes over €100 million to the regional economy. The Social Enterprise award look for those who have a positive impact on the community. Judges made the decision on a number of merits, including company milestones and achievements.

Managing Director of Ireland West Airport Knock, Joe Gilmore was elated with the win, saying that it was “testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Ireland West Airport Knock.” Mr Gilmore continued, saying; “I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of the team and we look forward to the national final in May.”

Ireland West Airport Knock will now go forward to the national finals of the awards in May, where the winners will receive a prize package including business mentoring from Enterprise Ireland and a €50,000 publishing bursary with the Irish Independent.
