Longford ploughs its way to All-Ireland glory

The Longford camp at the national Ploughing Championships is in celebratory mood today with the emergence of two All-Ireland champions from the ploughing classes.

The Longford camp at the national Ploughing Championships is in celebratory mood today with the emergence of two All-Ireland champions from the ploughing classes.

Anthony Reynolds clinched the first place accolade in the Intermediate Tractor Class while, Edgeworthstown’s Séan Monaghan beat off stiff competition to claim the U28 Junior Champion title.

Chairman, Longford Ploughing Association (LPA) Eamon Egan said that the achievements of the two men were “great” and pointed to the possibility of more Longford winners tomorrow. “We are absolutely delighted with the achievements so far, it is great and it looks like it could be one of the most successful years yet for Co Longford at the National Ploughing Championships,” he said. “We are off to a great start and with more competitions, I have no doubt that there will be more winners.”
