BREAKING: Female trio to stand trial for alleged feud related assault in Longford store after State re-enters case

Criminal charges have been re-entered against three women in connection to a violent feud related brawl inside a department store in Longford town last year which forced its closure for a number of hours.
Teresa Dinnegan (36) 18 Grian Ard, Longford, Cindy Duignan (39) 28 Ardnacassa Avenue, Longford and Annalise Power (26) 18 The Hollows, Farnagh Hill, Longford appeared at a sitting of Longford District Court this afternoon.
All three were charged with assault causing harm and violent disorder at Penneys, Longford Centre, Longford on March 16 last year.
Ms Dinnegan was also charged with producing a glass cased candle stick during the course of a dispute with Ms Power also being charged with the production of a knife during the same incident.
The case had previously been before the courts last year but was struck out by Judge Bernadette Owens owing to delays in directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) being made available.
Judge Owens was told the case was being re-entered by the State, something Sgt Enda Daly said the DPP had indicated was to go forward to the Circuit Court.
He said the State prosecutor's office had consented for all three women to be sent forward on a signed plea "should that arise".
Diarmuid Quinn, defending for Ms Dinnegan, made a disclosure order for all statements and prosecution evidence in relation to the case to be made available in order to take instructions from his client.
He also made an application for legal aid, saying Ms Dinnegan was not currently working and that her husband was currently in custody in relation to a separate matter.
In granting legal aid, Judge Owens reserved approving an application made on behalf of Ms Duignan to allow for a statement of means to be furnished.
Bríd Mimnagh, defending for Ms Power made a similar application for legal aid in a submission which was granted after it was revealed the Longford woman was currently not in gainful employment.
All three were remanded on continuing bail to a sitting of Longford District Court on October 3 for the servicing of a book of evidence.
