With the long hard month of January finally coming to a close, it's time to look forward to February and the Valentine's Ball for Cystic Fibrosis.
Organised by Longford woman and Cystic Fibrosis campaigner Jillian McNulty, the ball takes place on Saturday, February 10, and is the perfect opportunity for couples and singles alike to share the love by supporting Cystic Fibrosis Ireland, and the Cystic Fibrosis ward at St Vincent's Hospital, Dublin.
Lough Rynn Castle in Mohill, Co Leitrim, will be the venue for the Ball, which will be a fantastic night of fun, while supporting a very worthy cause.
“It’s basically going to be a night with good music, good food and a bit of craic and it’s all about raising awareness of CF and raising funds which go directly to CFI and CF Ward, St Vincent's Hospital,” Jillian told the Longford Leader last week.
Local harpist Áine McLoughlin will delight the crowds by playing the harp at the prosecco reception.
Tiny Giants will then kick off the night of music, with Brendan Farrell from Shannonside Northern Sound finishing the night off.
After the meal, there will be a leg wax and head shave with the very brave Paul Hennessy from Evolution Stage School and Cllr Micheál Carrigy volunteering to get their legs waxed for the cause.
The leg wax will be sponsored by Ward Urban Day Spa.
There will also be gift bags, a raffle and spot prizes on the night, with the likes of Esquires, Viewmount House, Max Benjamin, Dundrum Shopping Center, Kildare Village and Gareth's Garden Furniture donating prizes so far.
Tickets cost €65 and this price will include a prosecco/punch reception in the Woodland Bar at 7pm, a delicious four-course meal in the ballroom of Lough Rynn Castle, and a night of fun, music and entertainment.
Tickets are still available and group bookings of eight, ten or 12 are also available from Jillian McNulty.
