Longford band Caillte in charity gig

Longford band Caillte in charity gig

Local band Caillte will be hosting a gig on Easter Sunday (April 16) at 10pm in The Rustic Inn.

The band members hailing from across the county all originally attended Mercy Secondary School, Ballymahon.

During Easter weekend last year the band raised funds for St Christopher's Services and singer Oisin Bennett's volunteering trip with UCDVO, respectively.

This year guitar player Conor Beirne from Ardagh teamed up with Habitat For Humanity to undertake a trip to Ndola, Zambia.

He will be working with the local community to build two Zambian families a place they can call home.

Funds raised from this gig will be donated to Habitat For Humanity and in particular Conor's trip.

The band decided to perform a gig in order to raise funds for this worthy charity.

Tickets cost €5 at the door and all are welcome to attend what will be a great night out before the bank holiday!

Band members pictured, are front l to r;  Conor O'Brien, Ciara Casey, Aine McLoughlin, Kate Beirne, Patrick Flanagan. Back: Conor Beirne, Jonathon Nally, Oisin Bennett, Mark McCormack.
