Following on from his smash hit comedy, Victor’s Dung, Seamus O’Rourke brings his new play ‘The Sand Park’ to the Backstage Theatre on Friday, October 12th.
O’Rourke takes another look at rural Irish life, this time through the eyes of James Anthony Lowery, a big jolly Offaly GAA man who just wants to get on with things. He talks about the fun of life, the ritual of death and what happens when either one is altered.
Seamus is well known to audiences regionally both as a writer and a director having achieved much acclaim for his sell out production of ‘Victor’s Dung’ which he also wrote, directed and stared in. He has recently gained national attention for his youtube videos, most notably ‘The day Leitrim played in Croke Park’ and his play ‘Ride On’.
The Sand Park comes to the Backstage Theatre on Friday, October 12th at 8.30pm. Tickets cost €14/€16 and are available on 043 3347888 or through www.backstage.ie.
