Longford Rose 2014

The 2014 Longford Rose will be chosen at a selection night on Saturday, May 3.

Longford Walking Festival

Longford Tourism will host the first Longford Walking Festival on Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4 at venues throughout the county.

Cairn Hill Challenge

The second annual Cairn Hill Challenge 10 mile and 10km road race will take place on Sunday, May 3.

Static Cycle

A static cycle Lourdes fundraiser will take place on Saturday, May 3, outside Fay’s bar, Granard from 9am until 6pm.

Fashion fundraiser

Muscular Dystrophy Ireland (MDI) will host a fashion event to raise funds for respite support services in the Midlands. The event will take place in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone on Sunday, May 4 at 7.30pm.

Mostrim GAA

This Sunday, May 4, will see Mostrim GAA Club celebrate the official opening of its upgraded facilities at Hugh Devine Park, with a number of events taking place to mark the occasion.

Rally and Autojumble

Lakeland Vintage Club Ltd will host its 30th Rally and Autojumble at Abbeyshrule Airfield this Sunday, May 4.

Turin Hurling Club

A tractor run in aid of the development of Turin Hurling Club will take place on May 4, starting from McCabe Park.

Sponsored walk

The 10th annual sponsored walk will take place on Sunday, May 4 from Ballinagh to Hideaway, starting at 3pm from Ballinagh Church car park. The walk is in aid of the dialysis unit, Cavan General hospital and Motor Neurone.

Choir performance

‘Melodies in May’, an evening of choral music, will take place at St Mary’s Church, Drumlish on May 4. This will feature the Longford County Choir along with other soloists and Anton’s Orchestra.
