An art exhibition of recycled products, which were made in Coole National School, will continue in Castlepollard Library until Friday December 20.
Christmas fair
The annual Christmas fair will take place in St Mary’s Hall, Lanesboro on Friday, December 13 from 10.30am to 3pm.
Annual concert
Cloonfower National School will hold its annual concert in St Barry’s Hall on Friday, December 13 at 8pm.
Mock wedding
Gortletteragh Drama group present The Mock Wedding in Gortletteragh Community Centre this Friday night, December 13 at 8pm.
Table quiz
Rathowen Celtic FC are holding a table quiz on Friday, December 13 in Connaughton’s Pub starting at 10pm.
Sonas St Christopher’s
Sonas St Christopher’s will have a craft stall at the Dome, N4 Axis Centre featuring cards, homemade crafts and gifts for all occasions. Open Fridays from 11am to 4pm and on Saturday, December 14. Orders also taken in Sonas.
Boxing
Connolly Boxing Club will host an event in their new home at the Townspark Industrial Estate this Saturday, December 14 at 7.30pm.
Tidy Towns Fundraiser
Abbeylara Tidy Towns Committee are holding their Annual Fundraiser in Crawford’s on Saturday, December 14 at 9.30pm.
Fundraiser
The annual Miss Diva competition will take place at the Village Inn, Drumlish this Saturday, December 14. Proceeds will go to the New Cemetery Development Fund.
Santa Claus in Arva
The switch on of the Arva Christmas lights and the annual visit of Santa Claus takes place on Saturday, December 14 at 4pm. The lights will be switched on at the Christmas tree at the Market Square, kindly donated by Brady’s of Arva. Local Carol Singing will take place.
Annual card game
The community of Scramogue are looking forward to their Annual Card Game in aid of Scramogue Church Restoration Fund which takes place in Leavy’s Lounge on Saturday, December 14.
Christmas soiree
Ballymahon Landevant-Landaul Town Twinning Committee are holding a fundraising “Christmas Soiree” at the River Inn, Ballymahon on Saturday, December 14. Music will be provided by Bernie Connolly and refreshments will be served. Admission €10.
Free pampering
Ancient Wisdom Health Centre are hosting a free pampering day in the Temperance Hall on Saturday, December 14. All treatments on the day are free, but donations will be accepted. All proceeds go to the Philippines.
Children’s party
Ballinamuck Children’s Christmas party will take place on Sunday, December 15 in the ‘98 Hall from 3pm to 5pm.
Carol Service
The annual Carol Service in St Patrick’s Church, Drumshanbo takes place this Sunday, December 15 at 8pm.
Santa Train
The Cavan and Leitrim Railway in Dromod present the Santa Train on Sunday December 15.
Toy Run
The Midlands Motorbike Toy Run will take place on December 15 starting at 11am at Texaco Filling Station, Robinstown, Mullingar. The toy run will stop at the Children’s Ward, Mullingar Hospital at 12 noon before ending at Bethany House, Longford.
Santa will visit Lus na Greine this Sunday, December 15 between 1pm and 5pm.
Longford County Choir
Longford County Choir are busy preparing for their annual Christmas Celebration Concert on December 15 in St Mel’s Cathedral Centre, Longford. The choir will be joined by the choir of St Christopher’s and soprano Emer Barry.
Cake sale
Annaduff ICA are holding a Monster Cake Sale including Christmas Fare on Sunday, December 15 in Annaduff Community Centre after 11am Mass.
Abbeyshrule fair
The Abbeyshrule Christmas Craft Fair will take place on Sunday, December 15 from 12 noon to 6pm in the Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule. A free children’s craft workshop will take place from 2pm-4pm that day.
