Table quiz

Killoe minor club are holding their annual table quiz on Friday, June 6 in the Olde Forge. Table of 4 costs €40 and the quiz begins at 9.30pm.

Race Night

Longford Tidy Towns is hosting its annual Race Night on Friday, June 6 at Longford Greyhound Track.

Sunflower Days

Dozens of volunteers will be out in force all over Longford collecting for the national Hospice Sunflower Days on Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7.


To celebrate their reunion, Killeen Dramatic Society will hold a party night for all past and present members on Saturday, June 7 in Murphy’s of Lisryan. Please text 086 2606067 to confirm your attendance.

Pony Show

The annual Connemara Pony Show will take place in Ballinalee on Sunday, June 8.

Open day

The Inny Kayakers will host an open day on Saturday, June 7 between 11am and 3pm.

Static cycle

Specsavers Longford will be putting their wheels in motion this Saturday, June 7 for a static cycle to raise funds for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.

Book launch

Tarmonbarry-based writer Eileen Moynihan will launch her children’s book ‘Rory Gumboots’ in Ardagh Heritage and Creativity Centre from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, June 7.

NewC Festival

The inaugural NewC Festival, held on the grounds of Ballymahon’s Newcastle House, will take place on Saturday, June 7. Headliners include Ryan Sheridan, Ham Sandwich, Big September, White Chalk and Keywest.

Field Day

Abbeylara Field Day takes place on Sunday, June 8. All proceeds are in aid of Parish funds.
