The Gallery Press will present three of its finest, longstanding poets for an evening of poetry and discussion Wednesday, April 17 at The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon, as part of a nationwide reading series.
Longford’s Vona Groarke will be one of the featured poets at the event. Vona, who teaches at the University of Manchester, is an accomplished author, having written the prize-winning ‘Spendthrift’ and an acclaimed translation of ‘Lament for Art O’Leary’.
Also appearing at the reading are Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, a winner of the prestigious International Griffin Poetry Prize for ‘The Sun-Fish’, who recently retired from her teaching post at Trinity College, and Peter Sirr, a freelance writer and translator living in Dublin, who is often described as an urban poet.
