Following the success of the event in 2012, the Patsy Farrell festival will be held again this year and will be launched at the Aurora Hall in Legan this Friday, March 22, with an open session afterwards in Mitchells’ Pub.

Celebrating Irish music, song and dance in the region, the festival will take place at venues in Longford town, Abbeyshrule, Drumlish, Legan, Granard, Clondra, Liosnacrusha, Ballymahon, Edgeworthstown, Lanesboro, and Ardagh from August 1-7 this year.

The concert will showcase the talent of the young people in the Longford-Westmeath area, many of whom are All-Ireland medal winners. Amongst them is Cairde, a group of nine musicians who won the All-Ireland Busking Competition at the Fleadh in Cavan last year.

The launch night is sure to be an unforgettable night of music, song, dance and storytelling and admission to the event is free.
