Shaunagh Connaire announced on LinkedIn that her debut narrative short film 'Brown Bread' has been acquired by Disney.

Shot entirely in Longford, the film had a local audience in Backstage Theatre on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

A double Emmy-nominated documentarian, Shaunagh enthused at the time: “It was incredibly special to share the film with friends, family, and especially with my godmother’s children and husband — the people who shaped this story in more ways than they know. I’m extremely grateful to all the Backstage crew for hosting us.”

Via her LinkedIn on January 3, 2026, Shaunagh announced the following:

"I wanted to tell a story rooted in Irish life but expansive enough to travel. To see that belief reflected in a global acquisition like this is incredibly affirming, and a reminder that small, specific stories can resonate far beyond where they begin (G'wan Longford!).
