Irish craft makers are encouraged to enter a new competition to be in with a chance of winning a photography package of their works worth up to €1,500.
The contest - taking place across social media channels - is running in association with Craft Hub, an EU-funded Creative Europe Programme which aims to foster the professional development of creative careers and their work across borders.
Applicants are expected to make a profile on Craft Hub’s website and a profile will be chosen at random to win.
The Craft Hub website provides a huge amount of information about the processes and outcomes of craft, connects crafters from throughout Europe and showcases each person’s skill in a comprehensive and informative way.
The winner(s) of the contest - which is in association with Carlow County Council's Local Enterprise Office - will receive a prize of up to €1,500 photography package, to use for their craft business.
All entrants also have the opportunity to win an invitation to attend Craft Hub’s closing conference in Oslo, Norway on the 26th & 27th of October 2023.
Councillor Brian O ’Donoghue, of Carlow County Council commented on the project and said, "The council welcomes this project, it is a great way for craft makers to get their business and skills out there. Networking with other craft makers across the European union will be invaluable to their development.”
Speaking about the competition, EU project administrator with Carlow County Council, Stacey Phelan, said, "This is an amazing opportunity for both fledgling crafter enterprises and those who have their businesses up and running. Craft Hub is a huge project that connects crafter networks throughout Europe.
"This project offers applicants the chance to spread their name and skills throughout Europe and network with like-minded people and artists.”
