Newport manager Graham Coughlan was presented with a bottle of wine from Erik ten Hag which was chosen by Sir Alex Ferguson

It's not everyday you are presented with a bottle of wine personally chosen by Alex Ferguson and quickly say you prefer Budweiser.

But it has been a memorable season for Newport County FC, a team managed by Dubliner Graham Coughlan, who went on an extraordinary FA Cup run.

Following the exploits by his side, who were holding Man Utd to a 2-2 draw in the fourth round of the FA Cup well into the second half, Erik ten Hag made a post-match presentation to Coughlan which was captured on social media.

When the Utd gaffer presented the Dubliner with the bottle of red, he laughed: "You know I don't drink wine. I drink Budweiser".

"American beer?" ten Hag responded.

"But this is a really good one, chosen by Sir Alex," the Dutch coach added. "So maybe your wife will enjoy it".

"Maybe take a taste, I think you will enjoy it," ten Hag added.

"Well done for tonight," the Man Utd manage concluded.

Manchester Utd had looked to be cruising to a routine win as they went 2-nil up early in the first half. However, the home side scored just before half time and shortly after the interval drew level, to the delight of the home crowd at Rodney Parade.

The League Two side return to league action next when they face Swindon Town.
