The 17th Longford GAA race day, sponsored by Nally Bros Hyundai, Ballymahon, was a galloping success, with punters soaking up the great atmosphere and racing action on Coral Punchestown Gold Cup.

Martin Skelly, chairperson of the race day organising committee, enthused, “It was a wonderful occasion and the event has certainly become one of the biggest on the Longford social diary.”

He thanked Nally Bros for their generous sponsorship of the race day and he thanked all who attended.

Longford Rose Marie Brady was among the attendees, while Mullinalaghta St Columba’s brought along the Leinster Club silverware, McCabe Cup.

The winners of the best dressed lady and gent competition in the Longford pavilion, sponsored by Padraig & Mairead Brady, were Geraldine O’Flaherty and Seamus Lawlor (see page 69 for more).

The celebrity judge was Marietta Doran and she also interviewed Kate Nally McCormack, who not only was the Bollinger Best Dressed Lady on Day 2 of the festival, she went on to be crowned the overall Best Dressed of the Festival on Friday afternoon.
