Congratulations to Northern Gaels U15 team in winning a very entertaining U15 Division 2 league cup final played in Abbeylara on Thursday 2nd v Western Gaels. Leading by 2 points at half time Northern Gaels were under pressure trailing by 4 points with five minutes remaining. Scoring the next 1-2 they found themselves a point up in the closing stages of the match only for a determined Western Gaels to earn a deserved draw (3-8 to 1-14) with the last kick of the game. In extra time Northern Gaels found an extra gear to eventually win on a score line of 6-11 to 1-15. Great credit must go to their opposition on the evening who also drew with them on their previous outing earlier in the league.
