A funding allocation of €190,000 has been made available to Longford Co Council for the development of a bridge over the River Camlin.
Cllr Colm Murray (FG) said the funding allocation from the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs would be used for the construction of a pedestrian bridge over the river Camlin close to local authority headquarters in Longford town.
“The money has been allocated under Rural Recreational Facilities funding,” he added before pointing out that it would provide Longford Co Council with the opportunity to create a pedestrian walkway linking the Albert Reynolds Peace Park to the county buildings and the Garden of Remembrance.
He speaks to www.longfordleader.ie about how the money will be spent.
