Christmas Fair and Fun Day
Kilglass/Tarmonbarry Scouts Christmas Fair and family Fun Day takes place on Sunday, 6th December in Ruskey Community Centre from 2pm to 6pm. A selection of stalls to include cakes; gifts; crafts; beauty products, etc. We’ll have tea/coffee and mulled wine. There’ll be raffles; colouring competition; face painting; fun games and even some dancing. Santa will arrive on the day. Each child will receive a gift from Santa. Don’t forget to bring along your camera/phone if you wish us to take family photos with Santa. So, come along and kick your Christmas off with Kilglass/Tarmonbarry Scouts. Everyone invited to attend.
Scramogue Church Restoration Fund are holding their annual Christmas Card Game on Friday, 18th December and Monday, 21st December in Leavy’s Lounge, Scramogue. Major prizes to be won including a massive Hamper. Tickets just three euro, available from any Committee member,
Concert for Scramogue Church
The Solstice Choir is to perform in St. Anne’s Church, Scramogue on Friday, 11th December. All monies raised will go towards Church Restoration Fund. Showband star Dave Lawlor will also perform on the night as will Carmel McLoughlin. Tickets will be available from this week. Adm 10 euro, to order tickets phone 086-2507590. Doors will open at 7pm and all are asked to be in their seats by 7.20pm. The Church Restoration committee request your support for this event.
The Parish Pastoral Council at a recent meeting agreed to changes for Mass times in Parish following feedback from members. From January 2nd 2016 - Saturday evening Mass in Whitehall at 7.30pm. Mass on Sunday morning at 11am. Scramogue Mass on Sunday morning at 10am. It is proposed to have all evening Masses in the Parish at 7.30pm.
The AGM of St Barry’s Ladies board takes place on Friday 27th, at 8.30pm. The Ladies board organises all Girls underage and senior teams. We would ask that all underage girls are represented by a parent at the meeting.
Noel Rodgers has been appointed Roscommon Ladies U-14 manager for 2016. Good luck Noel.
McGlynn Cup Final
A large crowd gathered on Thursday night last for the first playing of the McGlynn Cup final between Strokestown and St Barry’s/Kilglass. Strokestown got a great start by hitting the net early on, and always held the upper hand. To be fair to our lads, they fought hard throughout but were always chasing the game against a strong Strokestown outfit. Both sides were presented medals immediately after the game, before Claire McGlynn presented the Darren McGlynn Memorial Cup to Strokestown Captain Cathal Brogan.
