Major Livestock event for Carrick-on-Shannon
On Sunday and Monday next, November 27 and 28, one of the finest displays of Commercial Livestock in the country can be seen at The Midland & Western Livestock Improvement Society’s Winter Fair at The Showgrounds, Boyle Road, Carrick-on-Shannon. The Society have just completed a major building project with the construction of a substantial enclosed judging arena alongside their present facility
On Sunday, November 27 the judging of the 33 Classes in the Prize Schedule commences at 11:30am, with the Young Stockperson Competition and then judging in all other sections will follow in two rings. The Society are deeply indebted to all their sponsors, both local and national, who have made all these exhibit classes possible.
On Monday, November 28, the sale of over 400 of these animals will start at 11 o’clock with 27 Bullocks, 34 Heifers, 49 Breeding Heifers, 57 Bull Weanlings and 247 Heifer Weanlings, so anyone looking for quality Commercial Livestock should be in Carrick-on-Shannon on Monday next.
