With all the Longford boxes opened at the count centre in Kenagh, one tallyman suggested that Willie Penrose is ‘a gonner’ having only managed to secure 553 votes in Longford.
So far, Bannon still leads the way with 3999 but he is far from safe, with some suggesting that Morgan (3227) will fare better.
The tallies from the Longford end of the constituency stand as follows: Bannon – 3999; Gerety-Quinn; 3509; Morgan – 3227; Troy – 1742; Hogan – 1637; Sexton – 1591; Burke – 568; Penrose – 553; Moran – 448; Magan – 374; McFadden – 282; Smyth – 251; McKervey – 236; Fagan – 105; Parker – 102; Healy – 51; Miller – 29; Jackson – 12.
