Deaths in Longford - December 1, 2016

Mary (Baby) Cox, Clooneen, Bornacoola, Longford / Bornacoola, Leitrim

The recent death has occurred on Tuesday November 29, 2016 of Mary (Baby) Cox, Clooneen, Bornacoola, Co Longford,  at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar. Deeply regretted by her nephew Martin Harkin and niece Kay Farrell, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Shannon Lodge Nursing Home Chapel, Rooskey Thursday, December 1 from 4.30pm followed by removal to arrive at St. Michael’s Church, Bornacoola at 6pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, December 2 at 11am with burial afterwards in Cloonmorris Cemetery.

Dan Joe Daly, Dromagh, Cork / Leitrim

The recent death has occurred on Sunday, November 27 of Dan Joe Daly, Dromagh, Mallow & San Francisco, peacefully in the presence of his family,

Dan Joe, formerly of Dysart, beloved husband of Margaret (nee McCaffrey, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim), dear father of Conor & Brendan and loving brother of Pat, Michael, Breda (McCarthy), Eileen (O'Flynn), Kathleen (Collins), John & the late Matt. Deeply regretted by his loving wife, family, mother-in-law Mary, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand-nephew, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral will take place in San Francisco. Memorial Mass will be announced later.

Peter Fagan, Millmount Road and late of Mullingar Credit Union, Mullingar, Westmeath
The recent death occurred on Wednesday, November 30 (peacefully) at St Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown, Dublin of Peter Fagan, Millmount Road, Mullingar and late of Mullingar Credit Union. Dearly beloved husband of Mary and much loved father of John, Peter, Stephen, Geraldine, Gemma and Gillian and granddad to his adored grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his wife and family, sisters Maura, Kathleen, Teresa and Josephine, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many good friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home on Friday from 3.30pm followed by removal to the Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 6.30pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10am followed by burial in Ballyglass Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to St Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown or North Westmeath Hospice, Mullingar.


Terence Vincent (Vinnie) Farrell, Castletown, Kilberry, Navan, Meath / Lanesboro, Roscommon
The recent death occurred, peacefully on Tuesday, November 29 at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan of Terence Vincent (Vinnie) Farrell, Castletown, Kilberry, Navan, Meath / Lanesboro, Roscommon. Sadly missed by his loving wife Kathleen, sons Clarence and Terence, daughters Felicity (Byrne) and Karen, daughter-in-law Catherine and son-in-law Pat, Terence's partner Ciara and Karen's partner George, his grandchildren Emily, Rocco, Caleb and Ryan, his sister Joan, brothers in-law and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Mullen's Funeral Home, O'Growney Street, Athboy for 6pm until 8pm tomorrow, Thursday, evening December 1 with removal on Friday morning, 2nd December, to Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan arriving for prayers at 12 noon. (Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to Irish Heart Foundation).


Mickey Hussey, 51 Devine Crescent, Edgeworthstown, Longford
The recent death occurred on Thursday, December 1, suddenly at his home, of Mickey Hussey, 51 Devine Crescent, Edgeworthstown, Longford. Predeceased by his daughter Deirdre. Suddenly at his home. Mickey will be sadly missed by his loving wife Molly, daughters Jennifer, Sandra, Sinead, Grainne and Oonagh, sons Raymond and Michael, sisters Teresa and Chrissie (London),grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, relatives, neighbours and his many friends. May he rest in peace.

Mickey's remains will be reposing in his family home at 51 Devine Crescent, on Friday, December 2 from 2pm. Removal will arrive to St Mary's Church Edgeworthstown on Saturday, December 3 for Funeral mass at 12 noon followed by burial afterwards in Aughafin cemetery. Family time on Saturday morning please.

Thomas Keogan, Elm Green Nursing Home, Castleknock, Dublin / Loughduff, Cavan
The recent death occurred on Wednesday, November 30 of Thomas Keogan, in the loving care of the staff of Elm Green Nursing Home, Castleknock, Dublin and late of Killadream, Loughduff, Co. Cavan. Predeceased by his sister Rose Smith, (Drumbrucklis). Deeply regretted by his sister Kathleen (USA), cousin of Fr Beglan, (Edgeworthstown), nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Granard, Co Longford, on Thursday, December 1 from 5.30pm to 7pm followed by removal to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mullahoran, arriving at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, December 2 at 11am followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.


Martin  Khublall, Drumdiffer, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim
The recent death has occurred on Tuesday, November 22 of Martin Khublall, Drumdiffer, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim, peacefully at Harefield Hospital, Middlesex, surrounded by his loving family. Remembered with love by his wife Darina, his son Shane, his daughters Emma and Sheena, his parents David and Rena, brothers David, Moses and Tony, extended family Linda, Dave and Adam, mother-in-law Rosaleen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and many great friends. May he rest in peace.

House strictly private. Removal on Thursday, December 1 arriving to St Patrick's Church, Ballinamore at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, December 2 at 11am followed by interment in Oughteragh Cemetery, Ballinamore. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to The Irish Heart Foundation.
