Centre forward Grace Shannon was named as the TG4 Player of the Match as mighty Longford Slashers stormed to currentaccount.ie LGFA All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship glory with a 4-11 to 2-8 win over Mullinahone of Tipperary at Croke Park.
Grace bagged two goals and was central to Slasher attacking and interviewed by TG4 after the final whistle, she said the victory was 'absolutely incredible'. "It means the world to us all."
She revealed that the team 'didn't get much praise at half time' from manager Conor Clarke, adding, "now I think we deserve a bit of praise!"
Grace said Slashers 'couldn't have done it without the backroom team' and that playing in Croke Park was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
