Longford #LE24: Cllr Peggy Nolan reflects on Longford tallies and one of the most difficult elections in 25 years

"I know their worth and I hope they think they same about me because we work as a team."

Experienced Longford Municipal Distict Fine Gael councillor Peggy Nolan described this election 'as one of the most difficult elections ever in my 25 years involvement in local government'.

She added, "I couldn't read it any stage."

Cllr Nolan, who received 882 votes according to tallies and she said she received a 'fabulous reception on doorsteps' and I'm 'hopefully going to be re-elected to fulfill the wishes of the people'

She said she was absolutely thrilled for Gerry Hagan (FG), Martin Monaghan (FF) and Seamus Butler (FF), her council colleagues. "I know their worth and I hope they think they same about me because we work as a team."
