WATCH: Christmas countdown offically on as trailer for this year's Late Late Toy Show drops

For the first time on RTÉ, audio description will be available live during the toy show, making it more accessible than ever

The festive season has officially begun as RTÉ have relased the trailer for this year's Late Late Toy Show.  

As children across Ireland and beyond prepare for the most magical night of the year, Patrick Kielty and his team of astronauts are suiting up for a mission unlike any other. With a goal to ensure that every child can join in the fun, the countdown has begun for the biggest night of toys, laughter and festive cheer. 

Viewers will be transported to Mission Control, where host Patrick Kielty is surrounded by his top team of toy show astronauts. Together, they are plotting and preparing their course for Friday, December 5, to launch the Late Late Toy Show into orbit.

For the first time on RTÉ, audio description will be available live during the toy show, making it more accessible than ever and ensuring that its wonder can be shared universally. Live Irish Sign Language interpretation will also be available on the night on the RTÉ News Channel and RTÉ Player, ensuring inclusivity for all audiences across Ireland and beyond.

You can watch this year's Late Late Toy Show live on Friday, December 5 at 9:35pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player. It can be streamed live or on demand on the RTÉ Player also. The toy show will be repeated on Sunday, December 7 at 3:10pm with audio description. 

This year’s 60-second trailer will get its first TV spot tonight, Friday, November 14, during the Six One News on RTÉ One.
