Thousands of people poured through the gates of Connolly Barracks on Friday and Saturday for the stunning and spectacular Longford Lights Festival 2024. There is one last opportunity to visit the Festival on Sunday.
This excellent video by the talented Nathan Sheridan gives people a flavour of the magnificent Longford Lights Festival. The video also featured on the Longford Library Services Facebook Page.
Longford Lights is the largest community-based arts lights festival in Ireland with thousands of lights on display across twenty-eight art installations, many of which are interactive for audiences.
Led by Artistic Director Caroline Conway, there will be increased performance and interactive elements to the festival this year, including from the internationally acclaimed Spanish troupe Cal y Canto Teatro.
Artistic Director Caroline Conway spoke to the coming together of the local and artistic communities saying, “Longford Lights is different than other festivals in the way that the local community is the foundation of the whole project. Working together with both international and local artists, this year’s festival promises to be more interactive for audiences and we can’t wait for you to see it!”
