Longford soccer star on target for Athlone in the Women’s Champions League
Kenagh girl scores the fourth goal in emphatic 4-0 win
Longford soccer star Michaela Hand from Kenagh scored the fourth goal for Athlone Town FC who cruised into the final of the Women's Champions League first qualifying round on Wednesday morning, outclassing North Macedonian side ZFK Skopje 2014 at Zagłabiowski Park Sportowy in the Polish city of Sosnowiec.

Substitute Michaela was brought on in the 78th minute and four minutes later she planted the ball into the corner of the net from a cracking volley from outside the box.
Athlone were the favourites to get through this test. They did so impressively on a 4-0 scoreline and will now take on either host club Czarni Sosnowiec or Georgia's WFC Nike in a tougher task at the same venue on Saturday evening (5pm Irish time).
