Longford RFC's Shane Mallon stars for Ireland U20s in Six Nations victories over France and Wales
It has been a hectic few days for Longford RFC's Shane Mallon and on Friday evening he helped Ireland make it two wins from two in the U20 Six Nations Rugby Championship as they dramatically overcame France by 17 - 16.
Ireland's win in Aix-en-Provence was their first at U20 level in France since 2012 and Shane played a significant part in a memorable triumph.
The Irish sealed the deal with a late, late try from Ben Brownlee and the confident out-half Charlie Tector held his nerve to dispatch the match winning conversion.
The previous Friday evening, Shane started on the left wing for Ireland U20s at Musgrave Park, Cork, where they crushed Wales U20s 53-05 in winning by a record margin.
The back-to-back victories for Richie Murphy’s side mean they are currently sitting pretty at the top of the Six Nations table.
