Public appeal as Longford community set to rally together in a ‘A Night for Nicky’

Details of ‘A Night for Nicky’, which is a fundraising initiative in aid of local Drumlish resident Nicola Cawley Murphy, have been revealed, with all funds raised going to the family to help pay for Nicky’s ongoing treatment.

Nicola, or Nicky as she is known by friends, was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer back in 2015. After undergoing numerous types of treatments and trials, Nicky has yet to receive the all-clear she has been longing for.

This led to friends and family setting up the event in aid of the mother-of-three and husband Padraig.
A ‘Night for Nicky’ will take place in the Longford Arms hotel on Friday, June 7, commencing at 9:30pm sharp.

On the night, attendees will be treated to the musical talents of local artists Mick Flavin, Nite Fever, Audio Pilot and much more. There will also be a raffle and auction held on the night, with some fantastic prizes on offer.

For further information on the event or to purchase tickets before they sell out, contact the committee via the official Night for Nicky Facebook page.

For those who cannot attend on the night but still wish to help this young Longford family, you can do so through the gofundme page set up by searching A Night for Nicky.

To help drum up further interest in the event, the committee are calling on the people of Longford to download the official Night for Nicky cover photo and make it the cover picture on their own social media accounts.

Gala fashion show adds support to Nicky’s cause

A Gala fashion show has also been organised in aid of Drumlish mother Nicola Cawley Murphy.

The event will take place on Friday, May 10, kicking off from 7:30pm in O’Reilly’s Bar, Drumlish.
The fashion show itself is due to commence from 8pm sharp and will feature both ladies and gents fashions.

There will also be a drinks reception, raffle and plenty of entertainment on the night, with all funds raised going to help Nicky and her family pay for her ongoing treatment.

Tickets are priced at €10 each and the event has been kindly supported by Spirit clothing, Kenny’s fashion house, Dress to Impress, Tally Weijl and Amy Leslie designs.
