Longford calls for Samhain scarecrow designs for Halloween event

As part of Longford’s Dead of Night Festival and the new Ireland: Home of Halloween initiative, Longford is inviting 10 community groups to design mythical scarecrows inspired by Celtic folklore, harvest traditions, and Halloween legends.

The scarecrow will be displayed in the Remembrance Garden during the festival (October 25 to November 3), with prizes for creativity, design, and use of materials.

Provided will be the frame, artist support, and a magical platform to showcase your group’s talent.
