Patrick Doherty's 'Pure Innocent Boy' is to be launched in Longford Library
A big exciting book launch for Esker, Killoe native Patrick Doherty who will launch his debut novel “Pure Innocent Boy” in Longford County Library on Tuesday, October 7 at 7pm published by Dedalus Books.
Patrick currently lives in Seville, Spain, with his wife and two daughters but remains very much in touch and closely connected to his native parish Killoe with a particularly keen interest in the activities of the Yew Tree Drama Group and Killoe Young Emmets football club.

Prior to emigrating Paddy was an active member of both groups and is probably most fondly remembered for his portrayal of young Dominic in Billy Roche’s classic play “The Belfry” directed by his great acting mentor Mickey Kenny. Patrick played at all levels with Killoe Young Emmets prior to emigrating to Seville where he now has exchanged his beloved white and green of Killoe for the red and green of Eire Og Seville and continues to man the backline for his adopted club in Spain.
Patrick attended St Theresa’s National School Killoe where his early interest in writing and acting was very much encouraged by his principal Colm Harte and helped sow the seed for hopefully what will be a successful publication.

Patrick’s book will have a Dublin launch in “Hodges Figgis” book shop in Stephen’s Green on Wednesday October 8 at 6pm. So if you have family or friends in Dublin it would be great if you could encourage them to come along for the launch which would be very much appreciated. A big congrats from the parish Patrick for a continuous flow of many publications.
